I purchased this April 26th and have used it everyday. It was fine for the first few weeks but I noticed that the battery pack now doesn't want to connect to the needle part. I have to literally tie it a certain way for the battery to start. Really annoying. Overall the colors and fakes skins/stencils It comes with are great to use for practice. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First of all - I am a complete newbie with tattooing!! Keep that in mind when looking at my very mediocre attempt in the pictures. This is my second time using a wireless tattoo pen -- I really liked it! I didn't like the fact that I didn't know EXACTLY what wattage the gun was at - like you get with a digital readout. The pen is not too heavy but is longer than the other one I have. I like that there was also a rca cord included just in case you didn't charge the wireless in time. The biggest con is how the RCA connection is. I tried out a "universal" wireless power supply and it didn't want to connect and stay attached. It seems to me like it's intended to only use the wireless power supply included? I don't know it could just be that I'm super new to all of this. I included pictures and a video to show how it connects. Kinda cons but typical of cheaper kits - thin fake skin, unknown origin ink that's not safety sealed, and needle cartridges are only marked by 5 pack not individually. But none of this is a reason not to get this kit. I really think this kit is mostly worth the price and I would recommend :) ... show more

    • Fun! Some trial an error as a beginner due to lacking instructions
A lot of fun! It's pretty miraculous that there are *completely* wireless oscillating/tattooing devices like this considering I still have difficulty even finding truly wireless oscillating/rotary drills for nails even.. I am a complete newbie to tattooing so it took me a bit to get the hang of this, unfortunately it didn't really come with clear instructions really. It came with plenty of literature on powering/maintaining the device but really nothing on how to proceed with the tattooing! For example, I did not realize the needle cartridge was supposed to twist firmly into the head of the device in order to secure it in place. I also did not realize that you could continually dip the needle point into the inkwell with no need to turn the device off each time. I'm sure there's a lot more I am still doing incorrectly and much more I could learn but after failing so much with this device, I had to turn to the internet to find out what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. So for this reason, I'd say this is as not as much for complete beginners like me. However, I will say the actual functionality of the device is pretty easy and intuitive. Easy to power on and off although the 2-3 second delay is kind of annoying, especially when you need a quick turn-off killswitch for when the needle cartridge shoots out the front because you didn't lock it in correctly... There's a lot I still want to learn, curious about the optimal depth of the needle in the fake skin they provided, curious if there's a way to minimize the vibration (as I could see the rippling in my line making from the device), ink quality information for this kit (how long does each color last on skin), true tattooing technique+hygiene info (wiping after application? sanitizing the area? etc.) As a true beginner, another skin rubber or two would've been nice if this is truly for beginners. I am unfamiliar with the market for this particular item and thus cannot assess "value for product" sufficiently. For electronic devices like this, longevity and maintenance will be the major concern. First impressions, will update if I find further benefits or issues w/ more use in the future. ... show more

Really love this tattoo pen. It's so tiny. In fact, if you were to use this off an AC power supply (as opposed to the included battery pack) it's almost as though nothing is in your hand! Beautifully made, and nice in the hand. At this size, you really almost need to use the battery pack to provide a bit of length and some balance. I love it, though. The pen is very smooth to operate in the lower voltage ranges, but if did notice that it has noticeable vibration as you go up the range. That's likely the result of the mass lacking, being the unit is so small. In larger tattoo pens with more mass, some of the vibration tends to be canceled out. This is a very nice kit, and includes great tattoo needle cartridges (see pics) which come in a box of 20, total. Of those, there are 10 liners (2 sizes), as well as 10 shader/magnums (2 sizes). Excellent cartridges. Also included is a set of good practice inks, a set of latex exam gloves, a small set of ink caps, a roll of rubber grip tape, one sheet of transfer paper, and one thin sheet of synthetic practice skin. I don't think it's practical to work both sides of this skin since it's very thin (probably 1.0mm-1.2mm). Very nice set. Love this tiny tattoo pen and battery pack. ... show more
