My Ramblings Wrench, squeak, twist, and Crack... another cheap a$$ oil wrench dies in the throes of work. Well, I'm done with that and upped my game buying this WorkPro Metal Pliers. Let's take a closer look. To the Point or TL;DR Metal, not some thin, plastic reinforced metal, but Solid, heavy metal. They are just like my channel locks only with wider mouth. Amazing quality, Smooth Action, Rubber coated handles. Works on oil filters, and fantastic on those large plastic collars used on Pool Filter Pumps. Way cheaper than local stores. The Good Stuff Metal. I like metal and could vomit if I got another plastic something or other that is suppose to hold load, but snaps like old dried pretzels. This is nice, solid, heavy metal with great channel lock action. They even sent it pre-oiled to prevent rust. This works great on those big, plastic collars that attach your pool pump valve to your filter. Easy to adjust, grips well, and doesn't destroy the collar from slipping. This was a great find. Oh, and it works on my oil filters. The Bad Stuff The only bad thing is I didn't find this earlier. Who May Use/Like It Those that want a tool for a lifetime. Me Final Thoughts Always nice to find a well made, solid metal tool, that can be passed down to your children. Really glad I found this. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hope it helps! (This wrench works for most oil filter sizes and brands) This wrench uses teeth dig in and grab hold of the filter canister as you squeeze the handle, effectively improving grip for removing over tightened filters. Once a good tight grip is established, removal of the filter should be as easy as a few good turns. By using this wrench, the teeth can cause the filter canister to become punctured so do no attempt to use this without having the replacement on hand and ready. Make sure when you are done using it, you wipe the wrench down to remove any used oil and debris, and store it in a clean location. I store mine in a tool drawer in my garage, but give a quick wipe with WD40 before storage to preserve the metal and keep rust away. This oil filter wrench is not from a top of the line brand, but it definitely gets the job done with ease. I have done two oil changes with it so far so its already paid for its self in DIY savings. Every use after those are just a bonus. I would recommend this oil filter wrench to anyone wanting to do their own maintenance on their vehicle. If any changes in quality or durability come up over the next six to twelve months worth of use, I will post my findings here.

Bought this to change my water filter on the house. Did the job well, but it also bit into the plastic casing. Maybe not the best tool for the job. The tool is good quality and works for various sizes. The grip is comfortable to hold.

Arrived quickly and appears to be well made. It was VERY securly packaged in a box, within a larger box. I have yet to use the wrench to change the oil filter in my Silverado but I'm sure it will meet expectation. It's not too large, but at approximately 11" in length, will have sufficient leverage to remove the oil filter without difficulty. A+

I finally got tired of paying $79+ for an oil change on my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. So I decided to go back to changing my own oil. Surprisingly, this thing did the trick even without having to take off the oil pan at the weird angle it causes you to do! So was able to do my first oil change in over a decade thanks to these!
