Every tool I have from Gearwrench is exceptionally well made. They are the new Craftsman tools. Actually, this feels more like it was made by Snap-On. I had a jammed household water filter which is about the size of a diesel oil filter and both unions on my pool’s salt water generator cell also stuck. Everything is made of heavy plastic, so no brute force. This tool popped everything loose with just a little jolt with a 3/8 drive18” breaker bar. Really Really stuck on Hydraulic Filter. Tried Plier type, Tried Chain type, Tried Vice Grip type (good grip no leverage) Tried Spider Grip type Finally Screw Driver And Wrench with Ratch tie strap and this Ratchet Filter Strap (a little learning curve how to use effectivly) was able to get this very stubborn filter off without distruction of filter .. yeah!!! ... show more

I have 2017 Volvo with a D13 engine. The oil filters will not come off with any standard filter wrench you get from the auto parts store. Don’t waste your time or money on anything smaller than this one if you have a semi. You’ll need a long ratchet or breaker bar to supply enough torque.
