- MACHINE SETUP CHECKS - The woodworking straight edge is perfect for checking your table saw for flatness, making sure your jointer tables are parallel, setting up your router table & other machinery alignment jobs you might face.

As you know Woodpeckers makes great quality items. I only own two of their tools. This straight edge and the 8" square. I use these tools as a datum for all my daily use tools. I use the Woodpeckers tools to verify that my equipment is square and flat. The anodized red is easy to see and contrasts well against a jointer bed, table saw top or whatever your needs are. I also use this to test my tape measures and rulers for accuracy. It's a killer bit of kit.

Do you need this? Maybe. It’s accurate and straight. Helped me level many a machine. But it’s also got a nice feel to it. Just feels good to measure and hold with it. And it’s made in the USA. Trueing up my jointer, router table and table saw wings. Yes it's pricey, but item arrived 9 days earlier than promised. Packaging was outstanding. MDF Storage protector a nice plus. Everything about this straight edge is a notch above in quality. It is pretty to look at too. Splurge purchase, we shall see if I continue to buy Woodpecker.

Have used it a dozen times now, Those boy's at "Woodpeckers" made it so easy to grab from the provided holder that's mounted to my wall. Very simple but "SECURE" holding devise keeps the Straightedge from being accidentally released probably even in an earthquake. Love this tool!

I purchased this to check the flatness of my miter saw bed and table saw top. The straight edge is very accurate and comes with an MDF carrying/protection case to prevent any bumps and dents. The MDF case can hung up on a pegboard or a wall to help ensure that the straight edge does not get damaged and the edges remain true.
