We have a cat who's at least 13 years old and has developed kidney disease. Our vet recommended a water fountain to aid in her water consumption. When an animal develops problems with their kidneys it's imperative they drink as much water as possible. Our cat took a few days to become comfortable with this fountain because she never saw anything like it, but we left her get used to the sound of the water and she slowly began to investigate it more over the days. Now she LOVES it! She likes to walk right up to it and she doesn't even care if her head gets wet now. It's funny, but I think she secretly likes to put her head under the water sometimes. More importantly, she's drinking more water and that helps her kidneys and of course extends her time with us. She's on medication also for Kidney Disease and along with this fountain she's back to her old playful self again. I'd recommend a drinking fountain to anyone who has animals, period. You can fill the tank and it will last a week. This is great if you plan to be away for a weekend or something. It also lights up and at night it helps the animal see in the dark. The blue LED subtle glow looks nice in the evening and the faint sound of the water trickle is calming as well. We don't even hear the pump because it's super quiet, only the very faint trickle of the water falling. What a cool concept. Wish I would have knows about these 10 years ago. This is a MUST for anyone who owns pets. It can be cats, dogs, birds, anything that can reach the top of the fountain, which is about 8 inches from the ground. So be aware of that height. If you have a very short animal it may not reach it. Our cat is very small, maybe 6 pounds and she can reach it fine.     • Perfect solution for our cats!!
I have had four or five different water dispensers for my cats over the years, and this one is, by far, my favorite. Here are the things I love about it: - Whisper quiet. I don't even hear a hum from the pump. - Large water reservoir. Many days worth of water can be held in the fountain, perfect for when we are away. - Easy to clean. The entire top water tray is stainless steel and easily removed/cleaned. - Excellent water filter design. The filter fits snugly and filters all water as it flows back in. The filter setup in this fountain is definitely superior to any of the other ones I've owned. - Three dispenser options. My cats really love the "flower waterfall" but it is nice to have a couple other options for how the water is dispensed from the fountain. My cats love to drink from the sink spigot, and the waterfall dispenser is the perfect flow to mimic that. I also like that it is very easy to see how much water is in the fountain via the front water level window. The fountain glows blue at night and definitely lights up our kitchen, which is a positive for us, but keep it in mind if you wanted to use it in a bedroom. The fountain was very simple to assemble. We've had it a month now and it continues to work great! Our cats love it and drink from it much more often than they did when we just had a water bowl. First time cat mom here! I adopted my Daphne last month and all my cat parent friends told me that the best way to get cats to drink water is to get them a water fountain so I browsed around for the top rated but cost efficient ones. I stumbled on this one and while Daphne didn't drink a drop of water on the first night home, she started guzzling away the next day! Now she drinks at least 1.2 liters a week, stays super hydrated, and doesn't even need the hydration that wet food is meant to supply her. I'm definitely lucky to have an easy cat, but this fountain really caught her attention because 1) it lights up, 2) the little flower attachment that steadily flows water, and 3) the water comes in a steady stream as long as you keep it plugged in! The fountain is just such a great addition to her life at home, it's high enough that her neck and spine aren't strained from leaning over, there's little mess, and Daphne just really loves drinking water! ... show more

So we got this fountain because my oldest was getting curious with our water dispenser and spilling out and pressing the buttons. Yeah…cats haha! Anyways we got it and I was super excited because not only did he stop pressing the buttons(that I also sprayed down with a lemon scent hehe) he enjoyed watching the water and the licking the water off the flower! So cute! BUT eventhough it says to be rust-free it isn’t. The top is fine but with de assembly for cleaning process I noticed the inside had rust. I hadn’t had it for too long but it did get rusty and I’m not sure why. I clean it every 2 weeks and I don’t use chemicals rather than soap. And yes I’m aware that rust causes acne and all in cats I know it’s bad before y’all come at me, but so far so good other than that. Great purchase I do highly recommend just be careful to clean it often and watch for the rust :) Stay Safe! ... show more
