These used to be my favorite shorts. I had several pairs I wore for years. I changed sizes and loved these so much, I bought a bunch of them in my new size. And every new pair I've bought recently I've worn only a couple of times and the snap breaks off when I unsnap them. They must have changed their design because this never happened on my old shorts, and it's happened on every single pair I've bought recently. Really pleased with these shorts. Roomy fit, good for hot weather, seemed to be quite breathable. They were on sale for a steal. As others have said, the little belt doesn't really do much to support anything, and probably it would be best not to overburden the pockets, but if you're carrying most of your stuff in a backpack, it's a non-issue. And, unlike most women's shorts, they are actually a reasonable length down the leg (without feeling like Bermudas) and have ACTUAL FUNCTIONING POCKETS.
