Was using a quick oil change facility for 2 years, took my Chevy Truck into the Dealership and the lead Mechanic told be I have some valve knocking. He changed the oil and the knocking was a lot less. He said if you use low quality filters even though you are using Synthetic Oil you will get knocking. Now I take the Wix XP filters with me when I get a oil change at a Oil change shop. Most places will allow you to bring your own filter. One place would not they will only sell a package deal oil change. Not using them anymore. My 2011 Silverrado is nearing 200k mileage mark. No valve knocking or high oil consumption. Can attribute most of this to the Wix filter or Chevy OEM filter, and yes high quality oil. ... show more

I believe filter available based on Independent reviews and comparison with other filters. I use filters, sometimes just going underneath and spinning on a new filter even though I haven't changed the oil. I figure that it's cheap insurance, 6 bucks eight bucks, I don't care if it's nine bucks. I hope that my engine lasts forever because vehicles are so expensive. ... show more
