I've been using the TG filters for many years with excellent results. They've never failed me. I'm one of those individuals who doesn't exercise due diligence in changing oil according to the vehicle manual recommendation (3mo./3k mi.), and with this filter, I can get away with it! I use the TG2 on my one-owner '96 Tbird. She's still got under 100k miles on her and has yet to need engine work. I also tend to open her up once in a while -- sometimes for interstate on-ramps, but mostly just for fun -- so I haven't exactly handled her with kid gloves. Whether this reliability is more a testament to the Ford 4.6L engine or the Fram filters is debatable, I suppose, but I believe the TG filters have played a major part in avoiding costly repairs. FWIW, I've been using only Pennzoil conventional with the TG2 and my Bird has never known synthetics. If you're the type who uses conventional oil (getting rarer) and religiously changes filters every 3mo./3k, then you can plop just about any filter on your ride and be good to go. If, however, you tend to procrastinate or your vehicle sees rough service, then you need a good filter like this one. The gripper top coat helps one keep hold of the filter while maneuvering it into place and get it spun on. Considering this filter's superiority to lesser ones costing about as much and some high-end ones costing double and triple what the TG costs, using the TG is a no-brainer! ... show more

Bought for 2010 Chrysler 300c SRT8 I’ve internally inspected, Fram Ultra filters before, and it consists of quality Media, Drain and bypass valve with 25 micron filtration. The friction grip on these filters is nice. I can remove them by hand. However, using 5w-40, And at a 65 degree F. startup, pushes 72-75 lbs oil pressure. I suspect at that high pressure, the oil is utilizing the “filter” bypass valve and is not, initially, being filtered until oil pressure falls to around 60-65lbs. Vehicle manual calls for a “Full Flow” filter, and this might be why!? For others that equate and balance, the correct maintenance for their vehicle, Filtration and Flow, are trade-off variables. Since I use neodymium, high temp magnets, on all my oil filters anyway, I’m considering stepping down to a middle of the road, oil filter with better Flow and a slight decrease in filtration. Doing so, I will save a few bucks, and gain additional protection at startup. I wish I could hear what others thought about the topic. The summary is; I have used Fram filters for a few decades now, and have gotten over 250,000 miles on a vehicle without having any oil leaks or mechanical issues when oil changes are appropriately and timely completed. I was having trouble finding these. I change my filter every 3000 miles. I own a Ram 1500 with over 200,000 miles and believe I have avoided the dreaded HEMI tick by using this much larger filter.
