I struggled to choose between this and embarq. I ultimately went with wisdom due to pricing and reviews. Set up was easy, website is straightforward. I did NOT include pictures of my dog because I wanted to see what their "traits and characteristics" would look like with no input from pictures. So, the sample came back with results within 5 weeks. I was happy with the quick turnaround. We had rescued a dog and he looked like a min pin but definitely bigger so we knew a mix. I'm thoroughly impressed with the results. We were shocked at the different breeds and percentages but they nailed the traits with no hints. I've included pics to show what he looks like and some of their predictions. Pretty spot on. Their testing is accurate with markings, coat type, and breed traits. He's definitely a terrier through and through. Overall, I would recommend.

The best DNA kit on the market gives breeds, genetic markers, and more. It's even more worth it if you can find it on sale! I got my puppy's results, no genetic health markers, and he's 100% sheltie! It even showed relatives of my puppy who were also tested.

when we got our dog they said he was a lab/pitbull mix, however he looked nothing like either one. They didn't even know for sure who the father was but figured the black lab running around the neighborhood. The other siblings did look like black labs. When I saw the mom dog I knew that it was not a pitbull. The owner then confided that they were told it was a bulldog but as it grew older it didn't look like a bulldog but more like a pitbull mix. Turns out the dad was german sheppard/lab mix and the mom was indeed 1/2 bulldog/collie mix. Our dog does look more like a sheppard which all makes sense. I believe the dna was pretty darn accurate. I love that you can see other dogs related to ours

We adopted a dog that looks a lot like a corgi except for some chihuahua around the eyes, and the legs were definitely not corgi-like. So, tired of telling people "we don't know, but we think he's part corgi and chihuahua," we ordered this. Turns out, not a corgi at all! He just happened to get similar traits from his cocktail of genes that match the general look of a corgi, but it's nice to know what he is after all! It was easy enough to use even with our picky/nervous boy - was worried we didn't get enough genetic material but it seemed to work fine. Accuracy I'm assuming is correct for now, as we'll probably not invest more funds on other testing to compare. Some of the Traits weren't quite right ("likely floppy ears" when his are opposite of that), but overall had some interesting insights that held true. It's the nature of genetic testing, but I feel some of the traits are simply based on his mix of breeds instead of actual genes for those traits. It was at least nice to know he doesn't have genetic predisposition to certain health issues, so I appreciated that (assuming it's accurate). Overall, happy with this test and glad we finally did it! I guess the biggest thing I'd want is a simple one-page printout of the information presented on the website. I also wish I didn't have to make a login - this is kind of a one-time thing and now there's yet another login out there that will likely get breached in the future, as all eventually do. So it'd be nice to get a nice 1-2 page color PDF report I can print out for keeps. Still, it is what it is, and I'm glad there are services like this so we can understand our furry creatures' backgrounds.

The Wisdom Panel Premium Dog DNA Kit was extremely useful, especially because both of my dogs were adopted from the humane society. When shelters list dogs as โmixed,โ itโs usually because they donโt know the animalโs history especially if they were strays so having this kit gave us answers we never wouldโve known otherwise. The results were very detailed and easy to understand. We learned the exact breeds in our dogsโ mix, along with more than 265 health screenings and 50+ trait insights. The health information was especially helpful so we could stay ahead of any potential issues. One of the coolest parts was seeing their relatives. If their relatives also used the Wisdom Panel kit, you can actually see matches sometimes even with photos which made the experience even more meaningful. It felt like discovering a whole little family tree for our pups. Overall, this kit gave us clarity, peace of mind, and a deeper connection to our rescue dogs. Highly recommend for anyone with a shelter or mixed-breed dog!
