First time I used it I had smoked a 5lb prime rib I got a notification that it was ready within an hour. I checked and it was still bloody and no where near being cooked. The second attempt was a 3lb tri tip after 30 minutes it said it was ready. Same issue bloody and not near being done. First time I just thought I didn’t use it right but second attempt it still not working. I had to returned it because it was not cheap. Update 3/8 Seller sent me a new one and it works great. Super affordable, small, easy to use and with a little bonus of having a gyroscope in it so it always knows where its facing. The temp read accurate after following the calibration steps in the manual it included twice. i have used it on salmon and lamb so far. I also didnt notice on the pics that it had a beer opener lol was a nice little bonus especially come summer. I was hoping the battery was rechargeable, unfortunately it is not, but for the price i think i expected too much. ... show more

About average difficulty setting up the app. Connection was good. The thermometer seems to be built well and the wood case is nice. The thermometer reading, however seems to be at least reading at least 10 degrees too high. So, when approaching the end we switch to a manual type thermometer. The product is beautiful and I love that the charging/storage box is magnetic so it can attach to the grill and serve as a Bluetooth booster. My issue is that the app connected to the probe but never launched the cooking function.

Finally I got the chance to buy this wireless thermometer alert. Its nice to know that this device is very accurate. I like my steak med rare, so at 125 i know its time to pull the steak out and let it rest. The app is very easy to use. You just set the temperature desired and wait for the alarm. The probe has a black plastic cap that i was scare it was going to melt in the grill / oven, but did not happen. I guess its really heat resistant hard plastic, as advertised.. Good item. This is an excellent little thermometer. Power is on and off when you open and close it, and his dirt cheap. Seems to be very accurate as well overall extremely happy.
