This thermometer worked very well. The range is much less than 442 ft but it was ok. The trick to getting the thermometer to connect to my bluetooth was to make sure it is charged up. When I first tried to charge the thermometer, the indication light showed green, so I thought it was charged up. Only after I could not connect to my bluetooth, I pushed the head of the thermometer farther down into the charger and the indicator light turned yellow. The light turned green in about 10 minutes and I was able to connect to my bluetooth. Once I knew how to get the thermometer to charge up, it worked great. ... show more

This thermometer is really easy to use and provides accurate real-time temperatures. It has a companion app for use on Apple and Android devices. You can program times and temperatures for the type of meat you are cooking. It's pretty granular. The only issue I've seen with it is that it loses connection when the grill lid is closed because of the construction of the grill. It's more of a nuisance than a showstopper though. I was hesitant to get a wireless meat thermometer at first, but this one was priced right and had good reviews. What a difference in flavor and juiciness when you can measure temperature in real time! I know some cooks believe you should be able to tell your meat is ready without additional aid, be my guess, I’d rather know for sure each time. This is a good meat thermometer and accurate. The only issue is that the distance you can be from the thermometer with your phone is about 20-30 feet.

Pros: accurate, nice charging case, easy to use. Cons: Bluetooth range is limited. App is kind of weak. Have to keep it in the charging case because it doesn’t turn off. Tips: don’t use in food that is small enough that the probe sticks out. You’ll get inaccurate results.
