I didn’t want to deal with ripping out my dashboard just to get modern features, so I gave this portable CarPlay screen a try, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. The whole setup took maybe 10 minutes tops: mount it, plug it in, connect your phone once, and it basically runs itself after that. Every time I start the car, it reconnects automatically which makes it feel way more “built-in” than I expected. CarPlay runs smoothly for everyday stuff like maps, music, and calls, and I’ve been using it daily without issues. I especially like using voice control so I’m not constantly reaching for my phone while driving. The screen is responsive and clear enough for navigation, and having everything on a bigger display just makes driving easier overall. What really sold me is how flexible it is; you can route audio however you want (Bluetooth, AUX, etc.), and the mirror feature is a nice extra when you want it. It’s not perfect, the screen can be a little harder to see in super bright sunlight, but for the price and convenience, that’s easy to overlook. If you have an older car and want CarPlay without spending hundreds on a full install, this is such a simple, worthwhile upgrade.

Picked up this screen thing for my old car cause it does not have any of the new stuff like CarPlay or Bluetooth. I was not about to buy a whole new stereo or anything like that. This looked easy and not super expensive so I gave it a try. Screen is actually pretty decent, pretty clear, and big enough to see stuff without squinting like an old man. Hooked it up with my phone and boom, I got CarPlay now. Kinda wild. I can use maps, music, and even talk to people without touching my phone. Bluetooth works alright, sometimes takes a sec to connect though. The mirror link is cool but kinda glitchy once in a while, so I dont really use that much. Installing it was not too bad. Just plug it in and slap it on the dash. Backup cam was a little tricky to set up, had to run the wire through the back of the car which was annoying. Also, the screen kinda wobbles if you hit a pothole or something, so maybe throw a little extra sticky stuff on there. Overall, it does what I needed it to do. My car feels way less ancient now. Not perfect but good enough for someone who just wants music and maps without blowing cash on a whole new system. Just dont expect it to turn your ride into a Tesla or anything.

Returning it after having it for less than 24 hours. I should have trusted the reviews, but I’ve purchased so many things that had terrible reviews and worked great for me. This is one I should have listened to. The $15-20 car Bluetooth speaker phones have better sound than this does. My phone has better sound quality than this. My radio doesn’t work, so using an aux it’s for the sound to come out of the car speakers was never an option for me. The Bluetooth has turned off 4 times in the two times I have driven since receiving this yesterday. When it is connected, the sound will cut in and out multiple times. The screen itself is too heavy for the stand that comes with it. I set it up in my car yesterday. A couple of hours later I go to leave, and the stand has fallen off. Got everything situated again and thought I was good to go. When I left for work this morning, it had fallen again and will no longer stick at all. I’m going back to a speaker that connects to my visor. This was not worth it at all. I had also already decided not to use the backup camera because the install video they show basically has you taking parts of your car apart to hide the wires.

Rating this as 3 stars based on four issues found (in no particular order). Issue 1: Screen Quality Concerns. One of the most significant problems encountered with this external screen device is the washed-out display, which makes it challenging to see details clearly. Attempts to adjust screen settings such as brightness and contrast only worsen the issue. Additionally, there is no automatic dimming feature for nighttime use, requiring manual adjustments to reduce screen brightness after dark. Issue 2: Unpredictable player behavior. This involves the device’s tendency to turn on the media player at random when powering up. Sometimes, it would start playing content from iTunes, while other times it would begin playback from Spotify, regardless of whether those apps had been closed beforehand. Issue 3: Bluetooth Compatibility Problems. The device does not integrate smoothly with the factory Bluetooth radio in my 2015 Toyota Tacoma. When receiving calls, both the factory radio and the external device attempt to handle the call, leading to confusion. This issue could stem from iPhone iOS potentially preferring a single Bluetooth connection instead of managing two competing devices. Issue 4: Mounting and Portability Challenges. This unit is considerably heavy and thus requires a robust mount, which features what appears to be an epoxy-like adhesive on the suction cup. As a result, it is difficult to remove and transfer the device to another vehicle, making portability a challenge. Conclusion and Recommendation: While the low price might make this device seem like an acceptable option, the various issues with screen quality, unpredictable player behavior, Bluetooth compatibility, and mounting difficulty suggest otherwise. It may be worth spending a bit more to obtain a device which, as a minimum, has a higher-quality screen. Based on these experiences, I am returning this device and switching to a suction cup mount for my iPhone, which seems to be a more cost-effective and hassle-free solution. If Garmin offered a GPS with build-in Apple CarPlay, I would happily pay a premium for it because I know it would work flawlessly.

Overall this is a solid product for this price point. The screen is good quality and functions very well as a plug and play add on. Bletooth audio quality and ease of connectivity are well appreciated. My truck didn’t have a great place to dash mount the screen but I was able to remove the ball mount and slide mount the screen directly onto a vent for a nice sleek mounting option. Two small detractors that kept me from giving a five star review are the following: 1-The audio equalizer does not re-engage when I start the car so if I don’t manually go into the settings and re-select an EQ preset, the audio sounds muted and thin. 2-The backup camera while totally functional, is a rather low resolution and worse so in the dark. Useable but not as good as others I’ve used in the past. Overall I’d still recommend this product for the value/ quality combination.

Works well at updating the feeling of your old car but, the display does not dial in for a good look even while adjusting hue contrast resets back to bad displays. Hard to see while driving It took me a minute to get the car speakers to work on the android set up because, I lost the book you just need to hit tx transmit and dial your radio and the TX on the most un- used station . Then when it makes as little pop sound it means it has joined in wireless to it and your voices from phone calls hand free work on your car stereo speakers and your navigation map I have Sirrus satellite radio and I can use my phone to select station if it doesn't do it by my voice sometimes. But it usually will find songs by artist or title but I don't know the channels for all my favorite stations so need to program the favorite stations and lock them in the library on the phone to have them on this device. Also if like me you loose little booklet the Amazon page you bought it from has a PDF copy of it available , you should grab that down to your phone " Just in Case Get it right now " to have it in case they stop selling this device on here. You will have it to pull up on your phone . Or if you switch from Android phones to iPhones or vice versa. It is an awesome device for people who have older cars and if you want it to fit in to look like it was factory. You can buy a mounting bracket holder that slides into your cd slot on your radio if your using a CD player stereo set up. My stereo is a 6 cd changer stereo so , I don't want to take out all six CD 's or chance damage anything if it was only a one cd player only then I would just take it out and slide in that holder I may take out my Cd 's if I find I am only using them rarely now with all my satellite stations I may use them less and if I am not using the device for a long time 6 will just use my phone as navigation and use my car stereo as I use to but , I like the Bigger screen for maps and it has split screen to show both maps and my Sirrus station at same time , it also allows the navigation voice to not interrupt my song but to temporarily come in with her commands a bit louder you know like " At the next set of lights ,take the right hand turn " etc. if the display was better I would have given it all (5) Five Stars .

I bought this car screen and back up camera to put in my jeep wrangler because I was backing into things due to not being able to see properly. This product comes with the screen, power source, 2 mounting options, the back up camera, all the wires needed to install the back up camera, and an audio cord. The install was fairly simple and it was easy to run the wires through my car out the back and mounting thr camera was easy also. This carplay screen works with both iphones and androids. This product is fairly easy to use and has the ability to connect to your phone with Bluetooth and it also has the ability to connect to your car if you have a new enough model. There are some apps pre downloaded onto the screen such as : Google maps, waze app, Spotify, Amazon music, messenger, messages, and others. This screen has the capability to mirror with your phone to play it on the screen. The screen has a power source that that plugs into the cigarette lighter which is nice so there isn't an issue with battery life or power source. I really think that the price for this product is very fair and I think its honestly cheap for what you get so im happy with spending the money for this product. The back up camera is awesome and it helps me hugely with backing up which is nice. Im very happy with my purchase.
