It's cheap, it did the job well! I used it on 14AWG uf-b wire. The project was to wire 17 wafer lights (Powerasia) around the soffit of my one story home. Using a utility knife or multitool wire stripper wasted time on the ladder and I required precision cutting length to be able to insert the exposed tips into the Wago connectors. It's important that you measure accordingly with connector nuts, to avoid arching and potential hazards. So i marked along the side of this wire stripper with a highlighter, after I determined the correct cutting length. I slid the red slider to that point and it stayed secure at the length the entire time of the project. I was up and down that ladder like a pro! I'm a 56 yr old DIYer woman! And my neighbors are amazed with the final project. Safety is paramount! The wire strippers did the job! Accurate, swift, and enjoyable! Can't wait till my next project where I may need it. Look if it breaks, seeing as hiw i don't do electrical projects on the regular, it breaks and ill buy it again. Maybe it's not the product for you if you use it daily. It is plastic, it's bound the fail, but for now as a DIYer, get it!

Work very well but

I've only used these to strip ~100 wires but it has worked consistently. Much more convenient arrangement than my auto stripper that require the wire to be inserted into the side. Mine are Irwin and are 100% bulletproof. I don't expect that kind of performance or longevity from these. I've used them on 20ga up to 2 conductor 16ga round cable (6mm diameter). Pretty much strips cleanly every time. I haven't seen any wires come off with the insulation and I've not noticed any nicks in the insulation of the conductors inside the outer casing. 4 stars because I'm not thrilled about the plastic body. I'd be willing to pay significantly more for a metal version but there isn't one.

Incredibly well-designed tool

This thing is AWESOME! PROS: - It does exactly what it says it does, and it does it the same way, every time, from what I can tell - I have only used it for two installs at this point, but it's an incredible time-saver and it strips wires of various gauges the same way, with the same efficacy, every time so far - low price, considering what it is and what it does CONS: - made of decent quality plastic, but doesn't feel like it would survive too many drops; but given the price, just buy more of them - the wire cutting channel could be a little larger, but I was able to get it to cut everything I've thrown at it thus far Overall, really satisfied. Some of these will definitely make it on to my Christmas list this year for friends.

Fantastic Tool!

This is not just a great tool for the price, it's a great tool! This will speed up your hobby work and save your hands from manually peeling cables. Its smooth and cuts 22 AWG very well and allows for short cuts, which is EXACTLY what I needed. Caveat: This is NOT for tradesmen, you will destroy. Its excellent for hobbyists but it will not take work site abuse will. As a side note, as a hobbyist, I have both Irwin automatic and manual wire cutters and I sunset both of them after I got this. The Irwin tools are orders of magnitude more robust, but also much heavier, tighter, unwieldy if not used with both hands, etc. This tool does not have that problem. Conclusion: BUY IT!

Cheap garbage - Cuts when trying to strip

I am writing this review as I write this thing off as useless. After trying to use it on three different projects, enough is enough, and I'll consider this lesson learned as I see it off into the garbage can. I would say that maybe 5 out of 50 attempts to use this to strip various sizes of wire were successful. The rest resulted in a clipped wire at the point where I wanted to strip. And even if it did work, I would be surprised if the thing would last more than a couple of months. It is very obviously cheaply made. I guess my bad choosing a "budget-friendly" item. You get what you pay for.

Became almost useless after just 3 months .

Worked for about 3 months. These are mostly plastic and I didn't expect them to last, but I did hope for a year at least. They worked great out of the box, stripping wires up to 6 gauge with no problem. Then gradually after about 2 months use about 3hrs per week max) they started having problems with some of the harder wire sleeves. First it was struggling with the larger gauge, but now it all sizes that are anything other than the softest wires. The red plastic stopper worn and difficult to use after a few weeks too. Not the best, and certainly not good value for money.

Im used to the old manual clamp, twist and pull method. Sometimes difficult in hard to reach areas. These are very simple and easy to use. Almost effortless. Just adjust to the desired length and squeeze together. Very fast and well built.
