  • Nothing was damaged due to excellent packaging
Color: Light Oak
I’m once put together, the set is much nicer than the picture showed. Chairs were a tad bit difficult to put together, but after finishing the first chair, the second chair was easy. The quality is very nice to and very nice craftsmanship. I will order one for my sitting area!

  • This set is really solid for the price and it looks like it would be much more expensive than it is
Color: Walnut
This is my review for Winsome Groveland Square Dining Table with 2 chairs, 3 Piece. We just recently moved into a home that didn't have a formal dining room and only offered a small place in the kitchen for a table. While this is typically not an issue for me and my husband as we eat in front of the TV. We wanted to have a small place to eat when our niece and nephew visited us. However, we didn't want a 4 place seater as that would take up to much space in our already small kitchen. I ordered this table and chair set and I did not expect much, I thought it would look and feel cheap. Boy was I wrong. This set is really solid for the price and it looks like it would be much more expensive than it is. The table is 29.53 inches by 29.53 inches by 29.13 inches. The chairs are 16.60 inches by 20.50 inches by 34.70 inches and the seat height is 17.97-inch. The seat back width and height is 16.60 inches by 16.69 inches. Assembly was really easy. My husband put it together all by himself in maybe an hour. He's not too handy so that says something. Honestly I have no complaints with this table set. We have had it just a little over a year and it has been wonderful and fit our needs well. It looks great in our space and it feels sturdy. So what more can ya ask for. So I would recommend this product. ... show more

  • WORD OF CAUTION: Don't torque the phillips screws as if they will stop. They will go right on out the front legs.
Color: Walnut
I like the set. Think of it as a kit. I just got them right before 6pm tonight. It was allen-wrench 101. I got this set (2 chairs w/ table) and an additional matching Winsome 2 chair set from Amazon as well. The 2 chair set came first, so I waited and built them all at once. I started opening before the UPS lady even left, she came back up to hand me another package from a different vendor (Macy's) and I had to move the boxes to open the door because I started instantly. I couldn't wait to set it up. THEN... I couldn't wait to finish. I finished every little aspect and looked at the clock.. 11:22 pm. Maybe you don't want to build in front of children because you might use some off color language? It is wood and I don't blame God for making trees imperfect, but QC in Malaysia where the sticker says they came from could be a little better. As the subject above indicates, the black Phillips wood screws (6 each chair) just keep going and going and going. And when you just did several Allens that stop (bottom out, tighten up) ... natural instinct is to wait for the Phillips screws to stop too. My bad. I should have known better I have built a lot of furniture in my life. I noticed right away, it was on the first chair of four. I backed it back out, put a little Elmer's Wood Glue on the screw and threaded it back in to proper depth. I have a touch-up from another component stand I purchased. The white spot is so small where the point of the screw came through, i will just touch that little tiny spot with a touchup pen and call it a day. Anyway, there were a couple other gotcha's. One was that one of the chairs came with a factory split at an (unseen) corner support-block. It gets smashed by screws by design so it seems it could be fine, but I squirted a little Elmers Wood Glue in for safe measure. It was chair 4 of 4 so I just put a piece of packing tape over the split so it wouldn't run out and finished the last cross members before it even set. It will act as a form-fit filler that grabs in the event the chair creaks one way or the other and needs the support. They should have caught the split by eye and just pieced another piece of wood in. I'm sure it's cheap enough to take a loss. It's a piece of a tree. cmon... trees are free :) 1 person should expect a solid 3 hours to do a table and 4 chairs properly. You can jam through the process faster but any lack of caution could end up taking even longer. The frustrating part as with any allen head furniture build that you use an "L" allen wrench for... is feeling for the hole to put the wrench in. So let me think... It was 4 long, 4 medium and 2 short allens and 6 phillips per chair... so 10... x4... (plus table how ever many)... so 40 allens just for chairs... but if you are wise you will tighten everything cross pattern-ish like you would lugs on a wheel. Kinda pull what needs to be pulled next so you get everything straight. Then you sit in it, kinda lean around in it... put angle pressure each direction you can... when you flip it over.. guess what... gotta tighten again... so 40x is just first pass on chairs... now you are talking 80x if you only checked once... well double check now you got 120x of "stick your allen in the hole". You really want to be solid? 160x etc. What about the table? oh. Yep take deep breaths. Patience. Cuss if you need to, I won't tell. Nice looking finish. Came packaged ennnh decent. Nothing damaged INSIDE the box but the cardboard of course was in a soccer game for a couple days as the ball. Zero missing parts. Call my rating a 4.1 just because all screws and washers were easy to locate and none missing. -.9 though because QC... let a split get by your eyes in Malaysia... and a couple of the corner blocks really could have had a gentler cordless screwdriver operator. Kinda chewed up like it went through fast just getter done. I was thinking I would review this immediately as I was building it since it was Chair #1 of 4 that I realized how likely it is for people to expect the wood screw's head to stop the screw from going in and out the other side of the front chair leg. I kept thinking a tiny sticker with a picture of a reckless screw would have been great. First chair, you learn. First chair is slower than the others. 5 hours and it's done well, so no complaints just -.9 for the longdaddy screws, the unseen factory split, the chewed up Phillips holes on the corner support blocks underneath... call it $300 USD and half a days labor for 4 chairs and a table. That's exactly what it was. Easier than starting with an axe, so call it a kit. Figure also.. for chairs alone.. 40x of put a lock washer and a flat washer on a bolt... 40x line the parts up and get it started... also here are a couple tips for the chairs... 1) separate your bolts into long, med, short, and phillips first thing .. 2) put a lock washer first then a flat washer on each bolt and set them down separated - all at once is more efficient time-wise. now they are ready to slap right in instead of stopping your workflow and fumbling with washers 40x.. like boomboomboomboom.... it is done... vs. aww man lock washer ok flat washer ok.. where's lock ok where's flat washer ok shiny side which way ok... etc 3) put the seat onto the back, everything can tighten up fully right away except you will come back later and re-tighten after you sit in it and wiggle 4) front legs, just get a bolt started but leave it loose. you have to set up the cross members before you tighten anything. there are 5 cross members. 2 short and 3 long. 2 short go closest to seat which is the uppers, 3 long go farther from seat which are the lowers and rear center 5) tighten everything up, pulling in the directions that help it evenly space itself first... it's pretty straightforward but if you did tighten one side all up when you should do the other first.. the seat could come out a bit crooked and you'd want to re-do it. 6) everything nice and tight? OK sit in it and wiggle some. Don't break it just lean around in it at several angles. 7) flip it back over. See all the play you have again? tighten it back up. 8,9,10,11,12,100,1000,9999) don't strip it but when you're good you will know you're good Satisfied. ... show more

  • Perfect starter set **UPDATED**
Color: Walnut
**UPDATED 8/24/2014** Table is still going strong and looks as beautiful as the day we got it. It has outlasted relationships, and several moving adventures. It fits into a 1 bedroom apartment beautifully, and is still as sturdy as ever. I have to say this is truly one of the best purchases I have ever made. In fact it is getting ready to go to another family to be continued being used for what I can say is hopefully many more years! ***** **Original Review** We were looking for a small table that would fit into our apartment. We finally decided on the Groveland Dining Table. The table and chairs came in two boxes, packaged correctly with all the tools, and screws needed. The table and chair pieces were well padded to protect them during shipping. Once we had all the pieces spread out, it took me and my fiance two or so hours to put together both chairs, and table (counting in distractions from neighbors being nosy =D)Directions were easy to follow. We were a little worried at the size of the finished product, but those fears were groundless. It may be better about 1-2" taller but it is suitable as is. We were very surprised by the sturdiness of the table and chairs. For the price, we were expecing something that would be just temporary, but are greatly pleased. As of this review we have used it intesively, it is easy to clean, looks wonderful in our dining room. A wonderful starter dining set. ... show more

  • Poorly centered holes lead to a cracked surface during assembly.
Color: Walnut
The tables are fine. I ordered two sets, each set containing a table and two chairs. Three of the four chairs were fine. But on one of the chairs, where the lower side cross support inserts into holes drilled into the legs, one of the holes was drilled too close to the edge of the leg, instead of being well centered. Consequently, the force of assembling the chair caused the surface on the side of the leg nearest to the hole to bulge and crack. The materials are a nice hard wood, with a dark stain. The overall size measurements are accurate. The price is only a bargain though, if Winsome Trading, Inc. replaces any pieces that were botched when manufactured. ... show more
