  • Lucas & Lindy such a power couple that will leave you wanting more !!!
I was gifted this book for an honest review. I gave this book 5 stars. This is book one in the Coming Home series. This is Lindy and Lucas' story. Sometimes being a blogger and getting books turns into more of a job then enjoyment and you forget why you enjoyed reading in the first place. This was not one of those times. This book was such a wonderful surprise. I do admit that I walked in with a bad attitude and was prepared to not enjoy this book at all. But after the first few pages the Author reeled me right in and I was hooked until the very last page. This book has everything first love, lost love, villains, nasty ex's, best friends and amazing family. Lindy was made fun of when she was a little girl. She was 5'2 and weighed around 200 lbs. She got laughed at and felt like she never belonged. But she has two people in her life that make it bearable Lucas and Tara her two best friends in the whole world.. When she loses her father. Lucas tells her -- "I'm sorry your dad died." he says. Lindy wipes the tears from her face. "Me too." "I'll share my dad with you." Lucas sneaks into her window almost every night and they lay on her bed and talk and share their dreams with each other. They formed a bond that she thought could never be broken until Lucas became the star football player and was embarrassed to be seen with her. Then one night at a party Lucas gets drunk and does something that he can't take back and he hurts Lindy more then he could ever imagine and to make it worse he says things that he can't take back. She runs and goes home and the next day leaves for college and never looks back. It has been 4 years and Lindy and Tara have remained best friends, but she has not spoken to Lucas since the night he broke her heart and left her shattered. Lucas has done some things in his life that he is not proud of .. He has always been in love with Lindy and has made mistake after mistake when it came to her. He was young and not proud of the way he treated her just because he thought that his friends would not accept her. But now Lindy is home and Lucas is determined to get their friendship back on track, he is determined to win his girl back. And he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Can he finally convince Lindy that he was just a stupid young kid and that he didn't mean anything that he said or did? Or will she hold a grudge against him and not let him back in. And although they face these problems there are more problems lurking in their town. There is a person committing crimes all over and it is getting a little to close to home. And it puts Lindy in danger. Can Lucas protect her? I LOVED this book, I devoured it in one sitting. I loved these three characters, yeah Lucas was a bit shallow when he was younger but it was always in him to be better, and Lindy saw that in him. This story was all about family not just the love of Lucas and Lindy. Lindy, Tara and Lucas and their whole family are tight nit and have bonded together as a group. They stand up for each other, take care of each other and love each other. What else could you possible want? Thank you Emily for a wonderful story. I. Cannot. Wait to read your next book in this series I want to read TARA's story so bad. I am so glad I took the chance and read this>:) ... show more

  • Could have been 5 stars
4 stars. This actually would have been a 5 star read for me, except if had trouble getting into the writing style. I thought it had a great plot, and I liked how the author got right into the story. I really enjoyed the suspense aspect, and thought the other woman was super crazy. Timeline move quickly in parts, but felt natural, with good formatting and breaks. I also LOVED the snippets before each chapter. What I did not care for was I felt the writing style was a little choppy, and the dialogue was unrealistic. Still, overall I enjoyed it. ... show more

  • Really good story, but
I really liked the story. It had the bones of a really good book, but it was missing the emotions that the characters should be going through as the book progressed. It was like reading a really good outline, but missing the the real angst and drama. I needed more from the characters. *** SPOILERS I thought that the most emotion coming out of the main character was in the beginning of the book which was the very best part for me. Then, after she makes it back from college, it was like everything was fine and dandy. What bugged me the most was that she stayed away for 4 years...not talking to Lucas for all through college, and once she came back it was like everything was just fine and dandy.... everything that happened after she came back from college was just too easily resolved... example: there was another guy who was in love with her who wanted to marry her, but hey, he'll back off without a fight just because Lucas wanted her now... and let's take a look at Lucas... I am just not convinced that he has reformed and has now become a good guy. He never had to prove himself.... She just pretty much forgave him too easily. What happens if she gains the weight back or needs to wear glasses again? I'm not so sure that he would stick around. Other than that, it was a really good story, just wished the characters had more emotions. They kind of felt a little bit flat. ... show more

  • Loving Love
I loved "Windows". I am a reader and for me this has become one of my top ten reads. It was a wonderful read that drew me into the lives of the characters, allowing me to feel what they were feeling and loving how they interacted together. To be honest I cried several times throughout the book, which only shows that this amazing author knows how to write. I loved the intense sexual relationship between the 2 main characters. I also look forward to more books written my Emily Minton. She truly is a great new author that, in my opinion you should so read. If you are looking for an emotional connection with the book this is a wonderful choice. Emily Minton you totally rocked my world once again. Keep them coming and I will keep on buying. ... show more

  • Lucas...Need I Say More?
This book was my first book by Emily Minton (Im real late on this review, considering I have read all of her MC stuff) Lucas was such an easy character to fall for. I also appreciated Lindy as well. Lucas protected Lindy when she needed him to, even though she didn't want him to at times. It was cute to see him go so far just for her. I read this book in one sitting and its great, definitely a don't miss by a fantastic author. ... show more

At first I was super mad at Lucas with how he acted but when Lindy came home totally changed I knew he had to be kicking his own a**. The story is different then any I've read and it's sweet how much he loves her! Sweet sexy read and is in favorites list on my iPad!! I've read it 2-3 times since I've purchased it. ... show more
