If you’re in Florida, don’t bother.
My room is abnormally hot. We keep the house at 72, but I live with a 65 y/o lady, so I can’t drop it more than that. I needed to do something, and fast. The HOA won’t allow for window units of any kind. So my only option was a swamp cooler. What a complete waste of money. It does nothing. With or without the ice packs. And it’s still only early march. Literally don’t bother. At all.

Works well when accompanied by AC
I thought it would blow cooler air. Great for addition to AC though.

Not an AC unit.
This is a not an air conditioner. It works via evaporative cooling, which is not helpful unless you live in dry climates. The fact that the description says “air conditioner” is the reason for 1 star.

Perfect Backup AC – Great for Emergencies or AC Failure
This is the perfect backup air conditioner for power outages or when your main AC system fails. It won’t fully replace a compressor-based unit, but it can easily lower the room temperature by around 10°F, which makes a huge difference in hot weather. Just keep in mind — this is an evaporative cooler, so proper ventilation is essential to avoid raising indoor humidity too much. To maximize cooling, I recommend adding some ice to the water tank — not too much, just enough — and it really helps the unit get close to the cooling performance of a traditional AC. The oscillation, timer, and remote features are all nice bonuses. Quiet, efficient, and super useful to have on hand. Great value for what it offers!
