I used this to cover a window and a wine refrigerator see-through glass door. When you measure this, it needs to be cut just a little bit smaller than the area you are putting it on so it adheres to the surface tightly without any edges curling up. Once you get your piece cut then it is a matter of applying it to the surface. The instructions advise using a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap. I washed my surfaces down first just to make sure there wasn’t anything that would cause the vinyl to bubble. I took a hand towel and folded it up so I could place it at the bottom of the project because the water will run once you spray the surface. There is a film on the back of the vinyl that needs to be peeled back and if you peel it down about halfway and placed the top on first, then start rubbing across and down the vinyl as you press it down the window. That way you can work the bubbles out as you go instead of having to come back and work them out. The back of the vinyl is a little sticky so if you leave part of the film on, it won’t get wet and Your fingers won’t remove the stick’em on the vinyl. I'm giving 4/5 because I looked at the image of the "black" that looked like crackled colors. This is only a decorative embossing on the side you view. IT DOES NOT ALLOW ANY LIGHT THROUGH. This is ok, I'm a night shifter. My fiancé was hoping for something more "pretty" and translucent. It's ok, but you'd be just as well to buy plain black vinyl. The media could not be loaded. This film is thick and easy to apply. It was easy to cut & trim and the colors look good. This film shows plenty of colors but requires a lot of light to really show. It’s not great for privacy as you can see through it easily enough but it’s perfect for adding a little pop to a room. Looks great. ... show more

False advertising!! No prisms, no beautiful rainbows! The material is too thick to let any light through. Make great black out film though. I was hoping for a happy medium of light and privacy. But just darkness and privacy
