⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for my small space, and it looks modern too. I’ve been using the Windmill 5K BTU in my studio apartment for about a week now and it’s honestly been such a great addition. I was worried it might not be powerful enough since it’s a smaller unit, but it cools my room super quickly. The setup was really easy, everything you need comes in the box, and I had it up and running by myself in under an hour. I also love how it looks. Most window ACs are bulky and kind of ugly, but this one actually blends in with my space and doesn’t stick out like an eyesore. One of my favorite features is the app. I like being able to adjust the temperature while I’m out, so I can come home to a nice, cool room. The lights on the unit also auto-dim at night, which is a nice touch when I’m trying to sleep. If you’re looking for a small, quiet, and modern-looking AC that actually works really well, I’d totally recommend this one.

I have 2 Windmills now. Modern looking, and even in Fan only mode it cools things down quite a bit. The best thing is it easy to put it in a window yourself. They stress you should have someone help you, but honestly, if you can set a 50 lb box onto a window sill, you are set. No unweildy ugly brackets outside to deal with. Close your window on it to hold it in place, a few short screws to give you extra security and you're done. I expected it to be quieter based on all the reviews, so am disappointed in that, but it's not an offensive clunky noise. I bought a second one after buying one for my bedroom, so I knew the noise level in advance and still got it. The price is great. If I had to buy a third, I'd still go with Windmill.

The media could not be loaded. 1st bought the 8,000 BTU whisper tech for our bedroom last summer and we love this a/c so much that hubby and I got the 10,000 BTU whisper tech version for our living room! In comparison to the older a/c units we had in our apartment (3 a/c’s were graciously left behind when we bought our apartment), windmill whisper tech is very soft and quiet—even on the highest fan settings and on cool mode. I love being able to turn on both a/c’s remotely through their app a few hours before coming home and to enter into a significantly cooler apartment after a hot NYC summer day. I also truly enjoy the sleek design and the 45* upward fan that helps to make the room feel cooler faster rather than a standard a/c blasting just one area and that area being very cold. Installation is very intuitive and easy with all the tools you need to make it a breeze (including a nice pair of scissors for the sleek side panels)! Especially after setting up our first one, it takes about 20-30 minutes to set up and use right away—if you need to install a/c brackets, add some more time. If you able to splurge the extra money for the whisper tech a/c’s—especially if people are sleeping where this a/c will be—it is very worth it! I have observed that the set temperature may be slightly off from the actual output or readings in the room (ex: a/c temps are set to 68*, it says that the room temp is 74* but external temp reader reads the room at 76*). This is not a huge deal breaker for me as long as the apartment feels and is under 80* but it may be something to keep an eye on over time. Overall a very solid unit and looks sleek and works very well for me and my hubby’s needs. He is a light sleeper compared to me and is sound asleep while running this a/c!

My unit worked great for a bit, but wasn’t very efficient in cooling my space. It would always give me an inaccurate temperature reading until I manually turned on the unit and let the temperature adjust and then I had to turn the unit back down after it started running. The vents on the unit are also ineffective because they open up and don’t push air out into the room, making it hard to feel any type of cooling more than a few feet away from the unit. I bought two cheap vent covers to solve this problem and push air out in the room. Most recently the unit has started to rapidly change settings randomly, switching through all settings and beeping on and off. I tried resetting the unit on the plug as recommended by Windmill support, but this has been no help. I disconnected the unit from WiFi and reconnected, changed the authentication settings on the app, and ultimately disconnected the unit from the app altogether, but still no change. I changed the batteries in the remote, but the unit still changes settings randomly. The unit is practically useless now because I can’t get it to run for more than a few minutes. I contacted Windmill support about this issue and they were no help at all. They did not acknowledge that many users online have posted about this issue and they offered no help in fixing the unit. They offered me $100 off a new unit, but for that price I could still buy a much better unit which I know will be more reliable and more effective. I recently installed a Midea U-Shaped unit in another room of my apartment and it practically cools my entire apartment while the Windmill does almost nothing. Yes, this unit may be more aesthetically please, but it’s not worth the trouble. In short, save your money, avoid this viral (and ineffective) unit, and buy a Midea instead

Excellent unit. Arrived undamaged and was a snap to install. The decorative side panels make for a cleaner look than most ac units, and they even include scissors to help cut them down to size (nice touch). We have a townhouse and our hvac unit is getting old, cooling the upstairs bedroom is a chore so we added a window unit. The unit cools the room nicely and is very quiet with a nice clean look in the window. It is very energy efficient and the app allows you to control from your phone as well as view energy usage which is minimal. This is my second windmill. Very pleased and would recommend to friends.
