We live in the seaside town called Stuart, Florida where one of the best things to do is get on the boat and head out to the sandbar area. We've taken this water scooter there and it never fails to turn heads. I have a 10 year old son who weighs about 80 or so pounds. This thing rips him through the water, and makes the other kids very envious. I take the floaty wing off to allow the unit to dive under the surface easier. Does it work with adults? Yes, yes it does. I weigh about 180 pounds and it glides me through the water. Battery life varies, of course, on the weight and duration of use. I'd say if it was just my kid using it, the battery lasts about 20-30 solid minutes of periodic use. Cut the time in half for adult use. Cut the time to about 6-10 minutes if you weigh over 200 pounds. If you can get into a streamline swimmer position, you really can save battery life. Can I use it in saltwater? Yes, but make sure you flush it clean when you're done, or like anything in a salt environment, it is going to corrode. I've had no corrosion issues after two years of ownership and use in saltwater. Takes only a few minutes to get super comfy using the unit. The trick is to make sure the motors stay under the surface completely. If air gets into the intake, it will wash out and lose the drive. Nose down, under the surface and you'll be gliding along at what feels much faster than even a very good swimmer can go. We've been able to chase around snook, jacks, snappers, and even little sharks as it runs quietly. I will be purchasing a second battery, which is pricey at $140 or so bucks, but to see the smiles on the user and people who see it, I would say its worth it.

Happy with this purchase. I use it only in a chlorinated pool so far. It whips you around at a good 3-6 mph depending on your drag. The batteries can be a bit finicky. This is a get-what-you-pay-for scenario so what can be hoped for from a “non-pro” model

It super fun and you might notice that when you take it out of the water a lot of water drips down, this is from water getting into the battery compartment. This is totally normal, and this is fine because the water isn’t touching the electric parts of the battery because those parts are air tight. What I do when I’m done using it is I tilt it up and let it dry (shown in the picture) then once it’s mostly dry I flip it over, take out the battery and dry it all of with a paper towel, then if I used it in the pool, I let it air dry but if I used it in the ocean I wait till I get home and do the same process but before I let it air dry I get a bucket of fresh water and run the motors a little bit WITH THE BATTERY IN (the manual will tell you this if you read it) then I make sure it’s washed off (without using soap) then let it air dry. If you do all that the sea glider/sea scooter should work great and last you a long time. I also recommend getting an extra battery but either way it should be fun.

Bought this for my husband for our upcoming Havasu lake trip/ Father’s Day and this was A HIT with all the dads at the lake….dads that we didn’t even know we’re like “what is that and mind if I take it for a spin?” ABSOLUTELY YOU CAN, “We got it on AMAZON “ should be slogan just saying. Anyways I know it’s not cheap but by far you get what you pay for. This is probably an absolute need if you have a boat or NOT. Worked great in Lake Havasu Az. I wish I took pics but I will next lake trip! Oh and these were very large men cruising through and diving through the water. JUST A SLIGHT WARNING THESE ARE DEFINITELY MADE FOR ADULTS-these will jet out of little kids hands especially on high! Will edit after a few uses but so far so freakin great!

Hardly have to use my fins at all when diving anymore. Saves a tremendous amount of air on dives as well. Lasts an entire dive with intermittent use. Enjoyed having when fighting current. Scoot circles around my dive buddies.

We purchased this for a trip to the Caribbean. It definitely was a fun toy to play with. You definitely need to buy a separate battery because it will run down after 15 to 20 minutes. It performed reasonably well even pulling adults. Buuuut, like so many of the YouTube videos show, these will stop working at about the one year mark. It worked perfectly fine for us in the ocean in the pool, and we would always rinse it with fresh water. But even trying to take care of it didn't stop it from dying. The motors end up rusting out no matter what you do and YouTube is filled with people showing the same problem. So just realize that this is a toy that will make get about a year and no more.

This thing is so cool! Take it out and let it pull you around underwater! If you are a diver, or just like to snorkel on occasion, this is for you. It'll help you get around very quickly, and the maneuverability is amazing. A couple things: 1. If you plan to use this for an extended duration, get a second battery. The battery lasts for about 30 min, so a second battery can be very useful. 2. Clean and dry the thing as directed. Rinse it off after use, especially when used in salt water (I recommend rinsing after use in chlorinated water as well), then allow to air dry before storing it. When storing, store it a dry location. There are a lot of complaints about the motors rusting; of course they are going to rust if you don't dry them, especially if you are in salt. I've had mine for about 9 months now and I haven't had any issues with it. It's been stored for the last 4 months, and I took it out yesterday without issue... runs like it's new!
