  • Amazing scooter for our paddle board.
I've tried several solutions for SUP and they were not compatible with SUP mount, but Subnado has pads that help to attach it to any SUP very easy. First time we used it in the evening on my birthday we didn't have enough time to us it before sunset, but still with 2 people on 1 SUP we had 50+ min of power, we're using different speeds. Would be nice to have version with larger batter in future. Great Subnado supports 100W charge, I've used my charger and LED indicator on The USB showed 105W charge speed, in was charged from 0 to 100 in 55 minutes. Also ice tried to find Powerbank that could charge Subnado with 100W,that was not so easy, not all brands do support PD3.0 despite advertising... but was able to find 2 powerbanks (Anker Prime 20 000mAh and CUKTECH 25000mAh) and finally which I used on the vacation to recharge Subnado after taking the rest during paddling. I've tried to use cruise mode as it said in the manual, but it was not correct. Support helped me to fix that. I had to press button before turning on Subnado and keep the button for 15 seconds to switch to cruise mode. The step with switching on the device and pressing the button was missed in manual, but step about 15 seconds was present. ... show more

  • Great fun at the reservoir
I've only used it for a day, but so far so good. I attached it to the bottom of my kayak and tried out the 3 speeds and it moved nicely. In the low speed mode it seemed like it kept reducing power a bit. I thought perhaps the battery was weak, but now think maybe there's more power at the start to get you moving and then it tapers down to extend battery life. It didn't do it in the 2nd and 3rd speeds. First use was to paddle out to a friend who had the keys to the truck where lunch was stored. He held on to the side of my boat and I used 2nd speed to get back in. It was a little slow - we were side-by-side so kept trying to go right, and I used my paddle as a rudder to keep us straight, which put a lot of extra drag on the motor. Still made it in quick enough, and it was a chance to test the charging speed. 45 minutes on a 100 amp charger had it almost back to full power. I'll need to come up with a better way of applying power. Holding the power switch and paddling at the same time didn't work well for me. The wire felt like it was in the way, and it's hard to hold a paddle and apply the switch at the same time. Perhaps a toe switch to leave hands free. After trying it out on the kayak, my 15 y.o. wanted to try the arm mount and spent about an hour in the water being aquaman and having a great time. He especially enjoyed positioning the Subnado so that it made a fountain into his friends boats. I'm looking forward to going back to the reservoir this weekend or next. It's about a 1.5 mile paddle to the river where the salmon are spawning at this time of year. There's almost always a tailwind on the way there. My better half will take the boat with this attached for the way back. We'll see how it does towing a boat behind instead of along side. Round 2 - we paddled out to the river and watched the salmon swimming up, then attached the Subnado for the return trip - with the Subnado on the front kayak and a bungee to the rear. Speed 1 is about the same as my regular paddling speed. Speed 2 is a bit quicker. Towing in speed 2 moves along quite nicely, and we had 50% battery remaining. I'm a big fan of this little device! ... show more

  • Great all around water fun!
I was looking for some type of electric paddling aid for my paddle board and after look at propeller fins, trolling motors, Ect - I went with a Subnado. Long story short it works GREAT. I started with one and liked it so much I bought a second, you don't really need two if you're just mounting it to the board, but I got two so I could zip through the water like Aquaman (not superman, so many reviews online say superman... idiots). The paddle board package comes with an easy install mount (just get it right the first time cause it's ON there) and an arm mount so its a better value than a lot of the other ones out there. I was surprised at how quickly the board moved at max speed and even at low speed it noticeably helped you paddle against the wind - with two on at max speed I don't think I'll be able to ride it standing up (which is awesome). It's fun when swimming, but slower due to more surface drag area (thus the second). Battery life seems to last a good while, but you pretty much have to be back home to charge it since while charging you don't want water getting in it and there's no removable battery. I was able to get two for $339 each and picked up the dual controller add-on for $68 (that was a bit overpriced I feel). In conclusion, if you want something multipurpose (paddle board, snorkeling, diving, ECT), with a great form factor and portability I'd highly recommend. ... show more

  • This kit only works with specific existing fin boxes not included. Buyer beware.
The description says it is a 'KIT' for paddleboard/BODY BOARD..etc. It is not a complete kit. The description should say that this kit requires a very specific fin box mount to work. Maybe some paddleboards have the exact type of slide in fin box required to make this work, but many don't. And ZERO body boards have this. There was no way to mount this to my body board and no support from the company. I bought a fin box and have duct taped it to the bottom of my body board. Will also need to buy some waterproof spray paint to make it last. Otherwise, I would have to drill holes into my board to make it work. This should be much more clear on this listing. Their website shows different parts for this kit than is sold here. Poor customer service with slow replies from the company. Cool product, terrible misinformation and poor service. ... show more

  • WONT STOP BEEPING POWER SWITCH DOESN'T WORK
I took it out of the box, flipped the switch, and it started BEEPING LOUDLY nonstop. The fan runs at random speeds and the power switch doesn't turn it off. Tried the remote, no luck. Even put it in water (it’s a sub device), still beeping. It’s so loud, the whole house can hear it. Product support PLEASE HELP they won't pick up or answer emails. • Fun product but check wire connection
I returned 2 subnados which didn't fit my needs (refund was unusually problematic but now resolved, just a one off perhaps, so thank you) - SUP version had an issue with the cable connection not closing properly after using once. I found the hand held version too cumbersome to use comfortably for zipping along surface water (they ARE for under water use though) . I since bought 2 more for SUP use which we really enjoy! The cables connect great on one, okay on the 2nd (keeping eye on it, using grease as directed etc). My friend can't paddle much anymore with joint issues so it was great she could SUP with us using subnado. I find it really helpful when wind kicks up on lake or traveling farther using SUP subnado... Its a blast actually! Updated to 4/5 stars. ... show more

  • One Hour run time!
I have a 10’ kayak, the waydo was mounted 6’ from the front and the skeg 8’. It tracks good, however if I take the skeg off and move the waydoo back to 8’ then I dont need the skeg. Also below is an estimate of what worked for me in light winds with some choppy water. No wind nor current and the charge will last longer than my findings below. If you add my body weight, the weight of my kayak and the gear onboard it all comes out to approximately 250 lbs. Only using LOW GEAR I can go about one hour on a single charge. Only using HIGH GEAR , I can go 16 min then it automatically switches to low gear for about 10 min in order to preserve power. Using only SUPERGEAR, (which only lasts a minute) and then it automatically powers down to a lower gear. So once that happens, I re engage and kick it back into Super Gear, I was able to do that 6-8 times in a row on a single charge. Using my portable GPS heres the speeds: Low Gear: 2.5 mph High Gear 3.5 mph Super Gear 4.3 mph * In SuperGear I was covering 130 yards every minute. ... show more
