I have used these 8-inch pans twice now. Both times they were a “piece of cake” to use! I used Pam to grease the pans as well as baking parchment paper which also got a light spray. One standard cake mix fills four pans. I used a slightly heaping cup of batter for each pan, which was just perfect! Because I wanted five layers, rainbow colored, for my unicorn cake, I had to make another cake mix but used the extra batter for a dozen cupcakes. I baked the layers at 325 degrees for 12-13 minutes. Cool the cakes about ten minutes in the pans before removing. I am so glad I found these cake pans! They are so much easier to use than slicing a regular layer in half! ... show more

These were good pans. Just remember to spray with a baking spray. I used one with flour because these pans are not nonstick as I was expecting them to be. My first couple of layers were ruined. I saved the rest of the cake by using a baking spray. Also, remember to fill these pan less than half way because you'll have a mess. ... show more

I got this for my mother's birthday and bought it thinking it was normal cake pans only to find it was to make layered cakes and thought it was still pretty cool. She loves and and we immediately made a cake with them. She loves them for making personal pan pizzas and smaller cookie cakes as well. If you make a cake with them, they don't come out as level as if you were to cut a normal cake to size, so I recommend using skewers as I think they're a little too thin to level. ... show more

Wow! This made making a Chocolate Layered cake so easy! I didn't have the mess of cutting a whole cake in tiny thin slices. I didn't have a probably having the cakes come out. Easy to clean. Get this!

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with these pans as they were just as expected when it came to ease of baking separate layers. I was a little disappointed with the depth of the layers but I suppose that was my error for not paying more attention when ordering. I ended up using these pans to make a rainbow cake and learned that each pan took only one cup of batter. The layers turned out beautifully even though the height was somewhat lacking; four layers resulted in a 3 inch tall cake but since I used 6 it was about 4.5-5 inches tall. I did use a level but I probably could've gotten away without since these pans baked evenly. I was pleased with how well the cake turned out and how easy it was to make with use of these pans. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to use multiple colors/flavors in one cake. ... show more

My layers came out perfect and it's much easier to manage and less time for cooking. I would recommend these to anyone if you like thin layer cakes and in the South a thin layer chocolate cake seems to be the thing.

I haven't found anything I dislike but they are harder to get even layers. I highly recommend using a measuring cup and quartering your measurements to get closer to even layers! I love this pans! I made layered fruit and cream cakes and the thin layers keep it truly creamy and keep it from being dry! ... show more
