  • Pleasantly Surprised
Style: Low Profile
After breaking out the threads overtightening my old drill press vice, I went for this Wilton in hopes it would prove more durable. Despite the very reasonable price, this vice has proven quite good. Enough clamping pressure to hold some smooth round steel bushings i was drilling out to 20mm pretty easily, which is what broke the old one. I'm both glad I didn't go for a cheapo no-name model and that I didn't go nuts with the $250 model I thought I wanted. ... show more

  • A great little vice for my hobby table
Style: Low Profile
I needed a small vice to use on my hobby table, for small hand machining jobs that I do there regularly. This is a perfect fit for me, as it's not large like my regular one used in the garage/shop, and mounted easily to the top of my hobby/building/crafting table. I got a set of soft jaws for it, and it's quickly become an essential tool for my work. It's especially good for my dremel and soldering work that I perform regularly on items, working very smoothly in lightweight tasks. I do see now there are some less expensive ones available, but for me this is the perfect little workhorse, and the price at the time was very good. I'm very happy in this purchase. If needed it could easily be adapted also to some of my large machines in the garage, as the base has standard bolting slot pattern for attaching to the drill press or mill if need I ever need it there, and the clamping force is plenty strong enough for most any cutting/machining need. ... show more

  • As advertised
Style: Low Profile
It's nicely machined, nice and free while also having tight tolerances. In my shop, we use these every day, and this one is the nicest, especially for the price.

  • Wilton drill press vise
Style: Low Profile
Needed a drill press vise for a vintage drill press I rebuilt for my shop. Decided I would step up to Wilton for it. Looks great, smooth operation (after cleaning all surfaces with WD40), and held my first tube project for cross drilling. Easy to recommend!

  • Not the fanciest but very functional for the casual user
Style: Low Profile
For the hobbyist this DP vice is just the right size. It's well made and performs (so far) as advertised. This is not a machinist grade/quality tool but the casual user will likely find it to be adequate. A 4"X4" fits in the jaws so the size limitations will be determined by your drill press. The mounting slots make it pretty versatile and should fit just about any drill press. Install is straightforward and very easy with the proper tools and accessories. Mounting hardware is not included so you will need at least 2 bolts, 2 nuts, 4 slot washers and a couple lock washers. Once installed it use is self-evident. I particularly like the rubber face protection that's designed to hold round or other odd shapes. For wood projects you might consider mounting wooden substitutes however as the rubber may mar the project surface. So far I have found the Wilton 11744 to be a necessary addition to my drill press and had increased functionality significantly. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, easy to use tool to hold your projects securely to your dp this is a good option. Recommended. ... show more
