Very sturdy, tolerances are good, so far performs as advertised. The first time I struck a can on the anvil to crush it, there was a dent where the hammer head impacted. I tested it with several more strikes, dented to a degree on all of them. The metal is too soft to be a striking surface. We just purchased this vice and FedEx delivered it today. If we had not bought it on line, I would be taking it back. We have 3 other Wilton brand vises and all three are top notch equipment and have been used almost daily for years. Now we realize this is a cheaper model than the others we have but this vice is a big disappointment. The spindle handle is so loose it just flops around. The spindle itself takes a full half turn before vice jaw begins to move. The vise jaw is not perfectly aligned. This vise is not as good as the 15 year old Harbour Freight vice we bought this one to replace. And this one was a lot more money to buy. No more Wilton products for us. Believe me, save your money and just by a Harbour Freight / Northern Tool vice for a lot less money and spend the rest on something else. ... show more
