I was surprised at the weight & quality of this little vice, which sells for a fair price. The jaws are knurled for clamping metal, small pipe etc but also come with a rubber boot which slides over the jaws to clamp work you don't want galled. there is also a rubber boot which can be used on the flange which clamps it to a bench or table. Lastly, there is a bearing which allows the vise to be swiveled and all the threaded parts are of good quality, allowing for tight secure clamping. Great for most things but I bought it for woodworking and while trying to drill a hole the lock for head did not hold and it spun instead of holding. All my other projects have been fine to use it for, but what I really wanted it for I had to buy a different one.

The vice does work. It does clamp securely to my work bench. It is solid and heavy. But I have issues with the gaskets included with the vice. They are made of hard plastic and not a softer substance that will grip and hold but not be as forceful as the actual jaw surfaces. Also, the ones for the jaws don't fit. They are too large and keep falling off as you try and close the vice. This makes them impractical in use. I use the vice to hold a lot of more fragile items in place while I work on them and I hesitate to use this given the faults of the gaskets.
