I bought the set of 3 for my dark basement stairwell. My house is over 100 years old and there are no overhead lights on the basement steps. My basement door is at the bottom of the steps. I also need to light up the landing way where my side entry is. They light up the steps and the landing way when I come in my side door. The lights are nice and bright and if you place them low enough the lights will not be in your eyes. These lights particularly come in handy during the dark winter months when it gets dark at 5:00 o'clock in the evening. I charged these up immediately upon receiving them and installed them right away. They charged up fast, I hope the charge lasts a reasonable amount of time. My decision to purchase these was based on the previous reviews and for the fact that they are rechargeable. I did not want to get battery operated lights and waste batteries by constantly replacing them. The units have a magnet plate built right in them, which enables them to be place on any metal surface. If there is no metal surface there are small metal plates with an adhesive backing that can be stuck to any smooth surface. This makes them removeable for recharging. The price of these units are very reasonable considering they provide the safety of a nice lit area. They will turn off after a few seconds (~10-20 seconds) of not detecting any movement. I can see using these throughout the house to be useful during the night. They 'see' you coming from a short distance and turn on to light the way in the darkness. These are great for the elderly as well as children who may get up in the middle of the night. Place in the bathroom for nighttime potty runs. I would purchase again. UPDATE 06/27/2025: Good News. During the recent power outages in my area these lights were a life saver. Since I used the magnetic plates to adhere them to my basement stairwell I was able to remove them and place them around the house during the power outage. They really came in handy for the bathroom and hallway. And fortunately I had just recharged them. They do not take long to charge and they really do last a long time as they go/off when detecting motion. These rechargeable lights are little power houses in an emergency. I may buy more to place them in my clothes closets, linen closets or under the bathroom and kitchen sink. Now I am having a brainstorm of all the dark places in my house that I could use these. Great for when there are no outlet options. I have these lights set up on my stairs. Works pretty well and the adhesive plates are still on the wall. I even had to remove them and move it a bit. It did take a little bit of the wall paint but I was still able to re-use it. Currently the lights have worked for 2 weeks before needing to be charged again. Took a few hours to recharge but if that time is consistent it will be worth it. I suggest using 3m command strips so you can save the wall paint and move it as needed. The sensor on one side makes how it turns on different depending on the side you’re coming from. PROS: Adhesive holds well (I would suggest using 3m command strips so you don’t damage the wall) Lasted 2 weeks on a single charge with regular use 3 port USB charge cable included Fast charging (probably faster if you charge them one at a time) Bright enough to illuminate but won’t work well as a flash light. CONS: The sensor being on one side affects its motion detection. ... show more

These work great to light up our stairs. We have an old farmhouse and there are no lights in the hallway at the top of the stairs (old, steep, narrow stairs). We spaced out 4 of these going up the stairs and then added 2 on each side of the hallway. It lights it up perfectly! Not too bright for nighttime, but not too dark that we can't see where we're going. Love that we can use the motion sensor or turn them on. Easy to install. Will be buying more to use as nightlight to light the way to the bathroom as well. These lights add elegance and I love the look! The only issue I have found is that the magnets don’t stick very well. I put them on the stairs and 2 of them kept falling. I had to use an adhesive strip but other than that, worth it! Easy to charge, bright, and fancy!
