I installed the WILDROAD Aluminum Roof Platform on my 2018 VW Tiguan and I’ve been very pleased with the results. The platform feels solid and well-built, and I was impressed by how sturdy it is once mounted. It gave my Tiguan a rugged, adventure-ready look while also being practical for my hauling needs. I’ve used it to carry camping gear, a kayak, and even some bulky home improvement materials without any issues. Installation took a bit of time but was straightforward and everything lined up the way it should. I really like the multiple tie-down points which make securing different types of loads much easier. It has stayed secure on the highway with no noticeable rattles or shifting. The aerodynamic design seems to help with wind noise too, which was a big plus. I’ve taken it through rain and dust and it still looks and functions like new. The black powder-coated finish gives it a clean, factory-quality appearance that matches well with the vehicle. I was initially concerned about how it would affect fuel economy, but so far the impact has been minimal. Customer service was quick to respond when I had a question about the mounting hardware. Overall, this platform has expanded the utility of my Tiguan and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a heavy-duty roof solution. It’s been a great upgrade for road trips and outdoor activities. As someone who does their own wrenching, I’m impressed with the build quality here. The aluminum is sturdy and well-finished. It’s rated for 150 lbs; while I’d love to see it handle more (since my roof bars are rated for 260 lbs), it seems plenty tough for most loads. One design note: the mounting knobs protrude above the rack. If you want a flush surface, you can flip the hardware and tighten from the bottom. It’s a tighter squeeze for your hands, but it makes the rack look much more high-end and prevents dings on your gear. Haven't loaded it down yet, but it looks very promising

I'm very happy with the quality and the capacity of what it holds. It is lightweight and I can easily remove it myself. It's sturdy and inexpensive with good support. Great for carrying extra camping gear and is the best roof rack on the market for the same price. The installation steps are very easy and the overall construction is sturdy and durable. It fits perfectly on my 2010 Cadillac Escalade, very happy with this purchase, great value for money, works as expected, perfect luggage rack at an affordable price!

My family completed a 4,000 mile, 2+ week road trip this summer with the Wildroad 71"x47" Flat Roof Rack, and it worked great! It comes with handy eyebolts and we were able to secure items with compression straps. No bolts came loose during the trip, nor were there any other issues. I do recommend using a power tool and thread locking compound to tighten the many screws that hold it together. Assembly was not a problem. Some pieces press-fit together and may appear not to fit perfectly, but they work just fine within the necessary tolerances. I recommend purchasing with plenty of time before your trip in case of missing parts. I did contact customer support for this problem, and they were responsive and solved the problem just fine. Also, be aware that there is no adjustment on the platform to accommodate vehicles with different spacing between the roof cross-bars. If your vehicle's cross-bars don't move (as on my 2025 Toyota Sienna), you'll likely need to make your own system to compensate. After a little thought, I easily did so using sturdy 3/4" plywood and some extra bolts from the hardware store. See my photos for an example. Rust should not be a problem, since it is made from plastic, aluminum, and stainless steel. And Yes, it is sturdy after it's all put together. Think of a truss bridge: small parts, but once together it's a sturdy structure. However, I wouldn't put a roof-top tent on it and plan to sleep there. Just use it for a reasonable amount of cargo. It's not heavy for its size. I do recommend two people for moving it around because of size. Finally, this platform cost a LOT less than the namebrand options from companies that want to sell you a lot of overpriced accessories. So, if you're competent and can make up for the mounting issue, it's a tremendous value.

WILDROAD Aluminum Roof Platform Model: WR-APF-63 Dimensions: 63" x 47" X 2” Great platform roof rack for the price and features. Instruction book is straight forward on the steps to connect all the pieces. The construction of the aluminum bars are sturdy, 1.2mm thick and have riveted screw mounts. So far with my testing, I am not getting any road whistle from this rack. Lots of possibilities to mount various items using the supplied T Slot anchors. Enjoy the pictures of my install. My Recommendations: - Thread Locker 242 Blue for vibration resistance on keeping the screws from getting loose. - (8) M8 Nylon Locking Nuts with washers to keep the knobs from getting loose and added security

I'm sure once I get the SECOND one, I will likely enjoy it. However, the first one came with nearly half the parts missing out of the box. I needed it for THIS coming weekend. Now we have to make other accommodations. I spent 30 min. on the phone correcting the issue, getting a return label to send it back, and ordering a second rack for the future. Not real happy about this.
