Yes, the chime works with Google Home. Add the chime to the Smart Life App first, link Smart Life with Google Home, and create a Household Routine to connect your doorbell ring event with the chime. Follow the setup guide for details. Is this a plug-and-play doorbell chime? No. This is a smart WiFi chime. Setup requires adding the chime to the Smart Life App and creating a Household Routine in Google Home. Once setup is complete, it works automatically when your Nest Doorbell detects a ring. Why can't I find "Doorbell rings" as a trigger in Google Home? You may be creating a Personal Routine. Google Home only allows doorbell events through a Household Routine. Please select "Household Routine" when creating the automation. See the setup guide for screenshots. Will the chime work if my phone is turned off or I'm away from home? Yes. After setup, the chime works independently through your WiFi connection. Your phone is only needed for initial setup and changing settings. Why is there a delay before the chime rings? Battery-powered Nest Doorbells may have a few seconds of delay because they stay in a low-power mode to preserve battery life. Wired Nest Doorbells respond almost instantly.
