So I have two of these side by side one in freezer mode the other in fridge mode in my garage and I can't recommend them enough. They are super quiet, draw little power and are wonderful. But getting them was a massive hassle. My first one from Amazon was damaged so bad half the side was caved in looked like it was stabbed by a forklift. So they took it back, and I got one from Home Depot which still had a tiny bit of damage but wasn't visible. Second one I tried to get from Home Depot but it was completely destroyed before it even got to my house, home depot called me to let me know they stopped carrying this item because of so many damaged ones. So I tried Amazon again and my second one came completely undamaged. I think Whynter needs to rethink how they are packing these cause it seems very difficult to get these to you undamaged. ... show more

This freezer is the perfect size. I bake and have to freeze cakes. The shelves hold the weight and adjust to convenient heights. The width is perfect for cakes too. It came packaged so well. It was covered in designed shaped styrofoam. There was not a scratch on the unit. It cranked up as expected after the allotted fixed position wait. I never hear it running, even at night when everything is dead silent. The seal is so perfect, it maintains the temperature better than expected. I loved this thing in th beginning but as soon as it left the return window it has had nothing but issues. The door started randomly opening even though it is on a level surface. No matter what I do the door flies open. It ruined $600 worth of beef thanks to that issue. Pros: Keeps things ice cold when it actually works. Under warranty one year old refrigerator/freezer died suddenly and without much warning…faulty compressor and hundreds of dollars in lost meats that defrosted. We were not happy customers. Contacted Whynter and communicated with Angelica several times. She walked us through checks-lists in manual to rule out different problems. She was incredibly good at follow through, timely responses and problem solving - all done with a positive approach. What a blessing she was during a difficult time. This freezer has so much space and I love the door shelves and especially the basket at the bottom! You can adjust the temperature to use this as either a freezer or refrigerator and it can be adjusted to get much colder than the average freezer if thar is something you need. I tried to leave feedback before but Amazon didn't like being called out for their lack of customer service. The freezer is great! Works as it should, is quite and clean. Frost free, which is a plus. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good 13 cubic foot freezer. Apparently it can also be setup to be a refrigerator simply by setting the internal temperature accordingly for a refrigerator. A nice extra feature. It did arrive with a few dents from shipping (I'm guessing it was from shipping) on the outside near the back, but these did not appear to cause any problems with the function or seal of the freezer. Since getting a freezer these days is nearly impossible, I didn't want to send this back and risk not getting one at all. The dents were minor as shown in the picture. ... show more
