Summer in Arizona with west facing bedroom windows can heat your bedroom a lot. This darkens the room and keeps it considerably cooler. Just measure, cut, and hang it up. The material was easier to cut with a razor blade rather than scissors. We used the Velcro on one window and the round stickers on another window. No problems with either method. Nothing has fallen off the window. When I opened the package there was a very slight odor but it was gone in less than a day. Over all it is a decent product and the price i brought it for was reasonable. .Its easy to cut and the velco strips woorked well and there were enough for the job. They do block out the light. The only con was the round clear tabs only had one side that stick. Thus was probably a manufactural defect. Otherwise they were useless. I give this a B ... show more

I was skeptical with claims of 100% blackout while being portable and DIY, but they did not disappoint! The window in my girls' room let in so much light. During the summer, my eight year old would wake at 5am and all year my two year old would wake after only a short nap. I measured and cut out a piece and sure enough the room is so dark! I also have enough left over to do other rooms, I just haven't yet. My girls sleep so much better now! I haven't used the portable aspect of the product yet, as I just needed it to stay put, but with the sticky-velcro pads I'm sure it would come off and on with ease. Definitely recommend, so much cheaper than buying new blinds and they work actually better than the blackout roller blinds we had made special for our room A+ ... show more

A few minor changes would make this a 5 star rating. As you can see there are some what appears to be holes in the material, when opening the fabric , the silver side is very tacky, so, when pulling it apart some of the shiny material came off. These are not holes, this is the result of the stickiness of the silver side. it would nice if there could be some kind of material that would not stick to the silver side in order to make it easier to unfold the material. The next thing would be to add cut lines to the silver side making it easier to cut straight lines. As you can see the room is not pitch black, which is fine I just wanted to block out the sun, since my window faces West, I get the sun in my room from 1PM till sunset. This makes my room incredibly hot, also since I go to bed around 7 PM, the setting sun is my face. Would I recommend this to people, yes, I would just let them know about the issues I had. I think over all it's a very good product, it just be a little better. EDIT: The last photo is of the tweak the I did. I bought a roll of the Velcro tape and lined the edges with it. I then did the same to the wall, and you can see the difference with cutting down the light leaks. The photo was taken at the same time of day. If you do plan on this purchase, you might want to consider doing the same thing. You can of course purchase the Velcro from Amazon at the same time. ... show more
