  • This is one of THE best things I've ever purchased from Amazon!
Style: Batter Dispenser Color: White
Okay, this might seem as though I’m going over the top in my enthusiasm for the Whiskware Pancake Batter Mixer, but I really DO think that this is one of THE best things I’ve purchased from Amazon…EVER! This gadget works amazingly well. It is easy to use and the results are good enough to eat! (Excuse my pun, but I couldn’t resist!) The directions are simple. This is what I did yesterday morning: 1)I put in the wire ball that comes with the mixer into the container. 2) I Put in my wet ingredients. (In my case, this was one beaten egg and ¾ cup of whole milk. 3) I Put in my dry ingredients. In this case, I used Carbons Golden Malted Pancake and Waffle Mix which I will DEFINITELY write a review about! It is so easy to make your own pancake/waffle mix, but Carbon’s is in a league of its own. For this recipe, I used one cup of pancake mix. Hint: measure out your dry ingredients, whether a mix of your own from a recipe into a small bowl and then use a spoon to put your dry ingredients into top of the mixer. 4) I screwed the top of the mixer on tightly and then shook the daylights out of the mixer! Hint: Try rotating the mixer after you’ve shaken it in one position. This will help ensure that no dry ingredients stick to the sides. 5) My recipe called for adding a few tablespoons of melted butter. After doing that I shook the container again to make sure the butter had blended in. Then it was time to make some pancakes! 6) I heated up my nonstick pan and added some butter. 7) I unscrewed the top of the container and let some pancake batter flow out into my pan. Because my batter was thin, I didn’t have to squeeze. If your batter was thick, you might have to, but I don’t imagine it would be a problem. 8) When the edges of my pancake were firmed up, I flipped it and saw that it was a beautiful golden brown! In no time at all, pancake #1 was on my plate, waiting to get buttered, followed by pancakes #2-#5. These were small pancakes, just the way I like ‘em, in a nice little stack. Time for some locally produced maple syrup, and voila, breakfast is served! Hint: One thing I learned in culinary school was to ALWAYS use a warm plate when serving warm food because it REALLY sucks to have what you’ve taken a lot of time and effort to prepare to arrive to your customer, cold!!! 9) After a quick photograph of what I had prepared to share with all of you Amazon shoppers, it was TIME TO EAT! All I can say about how well my Whiskware Pancake Batter Mixer worked is YUM! 10) I still had some pancake batter left, so I screwed the top on and put the container in the refrigerator. This morning I took the container out of the refrigerator and saw that my batter had solidified, undoubtedly because it contained butter. I couldn’t warm it in the microwave, because of the wire ball, so I filled a large bowl with warm water, and put my container in until the batter was back to normal. Then it was time to repeat what I had done yesterday and enjoy another “short stack” of delicious pancakes! One feature that I like about this product is its ability to store batter for when you need it. Another feature is that you can easily make whatever SIZE pancake you like. Personally, I enjoy small ones. I haven’t had a chance to try this out yet with my waffle maker but will probably do so soon. I imagine it will be easier to control the amount of batter, so as NOT to overfill the waffle maker. Don’t you hate when that happens, and you have a mess to clean up? Speaking of cleaning up, cleaning the Whiskware was easy as pie. Simply rinse out any excess batter, put in some dish soap along with some warm water, and shake. The wire ball helps mix up the soap. Rinse everything until clean and you’re all set until next time. If you enjoy pancakes and waffles, I HIGHLY recommend the Whiskware Pancake Batter Mixer. I don’t think you will be disappointed! I’m not being paid to write this glorious review, but if the manufacturers feel like sending me some special pancake mix, I wouldn’t complain. (hint-hint!) ... show more

  • Effective, cleans easily in diswasher
Style: Batter Dispenser Color: White
LIke other reviewers, I do not use this item to mix batter, but instead pour the prepared batter into it. When using it to make waffles, I can get the batter into the iron without dripping batter on my work surface, as always happened before, and I can get the batter in quickly and evenly, making the waffles turn out better. The dispenser is well made, easy to use, and easy to clean in the top rack of the dishwasher. ... show more

  • Easy to use, 1 item device for pancakes
Style: Batter Dispenser Color: White
This things works a champ for making cute designs for your kids' pancakes. You can dump all the ingredients right into the bottle without having to get a bowl, measuring cup, or even a whisk dirty. It works really well for making designs on a griddle. Unfortunately I kept forgetting to leave off the lid to let the mix rise. Additionally, I felt like I got a whole pancake less worth of batter per batch compared to a traditional mixing bowl due to the batter sticking on the inside of the bottle. However, cleanup is a breeze: just mix some water and soap inside and spray down. ... show more

  • Just buy it…
Style: Batter Dispenser Color: White
If you’re looking for a container to make your pancake batter in this is it!!! So simple. Easy to clean. And great to store left over batter. I have a 7 year old who requests pancakes daily…and this has been a game changer. I used to just cook a whole bunch on Sunday and then store the rest; anytime she would want another, I’d just reheat…but it just isn’t the same as a fresh cooked pancake and some weeks I was throwing some out. Not anymore with this batter maker!! The ease of squeezing/pouring even pancakes has also been a game changer. I would often buy the shake and pour container by Bisquick but now I don’t have to!! I can use any recipe or mix I want to and still have the convenience!! I don’t write a lot of reviews but I knew after using this for three+ months consistently it’s officially my favorite kitchen “gadget.” I never want to make pancakes another way. I want to also add that I do not have a dishwasher (I know, crazy) so I hand wash everything and this is so easy to clean because it comes apart!! It still looks as good as the day I bought it!! ... show more

  • Works As Expected
Style: Batter Dispenser Color: White
I saw some reviews that said it leaked but I did not experience that. I also saw reviews that said it was very difficult to thoroughly mix the batter. I did not find that a problem either. My thought is that much will depend on what you are trying to mix. My pancake mix, Pearl Milling Complete, just calls for water and mix. I put the shaker ball in the bottom of the container, added the water first then the dry mix. It worked fine. If there are a number of ingredients such as eggs, it may not work as well. ... show more

  • Great concept, poor execution
Style: Batter Dispenser Color: White
We eat a lot of pancakes and when the handle on my last one broke, I though we’d try a different one. It’s easier to clean than the one with a handle as it all comes apart to go into the dishwasher. When you put batter in one end and close it it becomes pressurized to squeeze the batter out the other end but you have to tip it back over in order to not have batter get everywhere so the bottle becomes coated in the batter. I feel like a lot of batter gets wasted. I scrape the inside but the lid has a lot of parts where batter gets stuck. Going back to the one with a handle. ... show more
