Description

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby comes When You Blush, a small–town, forced–proximity romance set in Bitterroot Valley!BlakeI don’t do relationships, but I’m excellent at casual hookups. That’s not to say I’m a jerk. Not at all. I respect women—all women—and I know the value of love. But I’m married to my job as a physician. In fact, I’m married to the hospital, having a full–time affair with the clinic, and my family is my side piece. I don’t have time for a relationship with a woman. But then the most beautiful human I’ve ever laid eyes on walks onto my plane, and my world tilts. Thanks to a Montana snowstorm, I spend one incredible night with Harper, but wake up alone. She never told me her last name. She’s just . . . gone. It would figure that the one woman I could see myself breaking my own rules for is the one I can’t have.HarperIt’s time for me to come home to Montana to help take care of my dad and pick up the slack for my siblings. I’ve been gone for a long time, but this beautiful corner of the world is my home. I’m excited to start my job as a NICU nurse at Bitterroot Valley General and begin a new chapter in my life. A fresh start. A clean slate. Then he walks into the room, and it’s suddenly hard to breathe. Blake was the one–night stand who still haunts my dreams. The man can do things. Amazing things. But I never thought I’d see him again. Okay, that’s a lie. I knew he worked at this hospital, but he’s an ER doctor. I’m in a different department, so I planned to avoid him. Yet that didn’t last more than the first hour of my first shift. Now, he’s pursuing me and saying things like forever. But with a past like mine, can I trust that he won’t tire of me and leave? Or is this finally my happily ever after? Read more

  • Loved Listening to this Story
Format: Audiobook
I loved this book!! Kristen keeps writing these stories that I absolutely fall into and don't want to ever leave. I love the town she created and the characters are so easy to connect with. I felt like this had a little bit of second chance vibes since it was a one night stand that find each other again. Harper and Blake find themselves working at the same hospital and the sparks fly. Blake and Harper have a great story and I hope you love it as much as me. There are so many swoony moments from Blake that made me fall even more in love with his character. Harper is one that is wanting to have a fresh start and focus on her work. I loved her determination. When I listened to this audio, I just knew it would be one I listened to again sometime. Jason Clarke is the perfect selection for Blake his smooth but husky voice is just amazing to listen to. He is one that I always look forward to hearing. Stella Hunter has a beautiful voice with a sharpness to it that is great for Harper. She doesn't hold back the emotions on this one. I can't wait for more from this family in this small town. ... show more

  • It Was Really Cute!! 🥰
Format: Kindle
Whew! 😰 I finally finished this one! 😅 Took a little bit longer to get through this because I was at work last week, but luckily, now I’m off so I could finish it quicker. 😊 Now, onto the actual story: I really DID like it; it WAS really cute, BUT, at the beginning, it didn’t really “grab” me as much as “When We Break” & “Where We Bloom” did (the previous 2 books in this series). That’s why I decided to give it 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ instead of 5. Anyway, not much else to say about the story for me, except that the 2 narrators of the audiobook were GREAT (that’s why I gave the “Performance” 5 stars & the “Story” 4. Oh, and I REALLY DO appreciate that there wasn’t much of a “suspense subplot” to this one, too! I’m honestly getting a little tired of those ALWAYS happening in Romance books now-a-days!! I really thought Harper’s (the FMC) jerk of an ex- was gonna come “back into the picture” somehow, but thankfully, he didn’t! 👍🏻😉 One thing I DO kinda wished would have happened is that Harper saying that she loves her family, too. Saying it out loud TO them. You’ll understand why that’s a thing when you read/listen to it. I’m not gonna explain why here. 😉 Oh, and didn’t she (Harper) wear glasses in the first scene & then, somehow, never again? Does she only wear them for reading or something? Where did her glasses go for the rest of the story?? 🤷🏽♀️ Now, through, I’m just waiting (impatiently) for “When We Breathe” (the next book in the series—well, novella, technically) on November 6th! It’ll be my 1st time reading/listening to a “Why Choose?/MMF” trope storyline!! 😁👍🏻 Oh, and I REALLY hope 🤞🏻 that Ava (Harper’s BFF & “family”) (and all the Hendrix siblings) get their own books because Ava is HILARIOUS (if you know, you know 😉)!! 😆🤞🏻 ... show more

  • The Perfect Blend of Swoon, Laughter, and Heart
Format: Kindle
When you blush" by Kristen Proby is a masterclass in contemporary romance, delivering a story that is as emotionally satisfying as it is entertaining. The journey of Blake and Harper is pure magic. Harper guards a heart that's been bruised, making her cautious of a charming man like Blake. But Blake's transformation is the core of this book's magic. The moment he meets Harper, his player days are over. He pursues her with a single-minded determination that is incredibly swoon-worthy, proving that he's ready for the serious relationship he never knew he wanted. His tender pet names for her—"sweetheart," "sugar"—are the cherry on top of a perfectly written hero. Their relationship is built on a foundation of adorable stolen moments and electric chemistry. The story is also brilliantly funny, thanks in large part to Harper's protective (and hilarious) brother, Xander (X). Their banter is top-tier, perfectly captured in this scene along with her other siblings funny banter. "Wait. What do you mean, don't wait up?" Harper turns to face him. "You're thirty-two, X. Do I have to spell it out for you?" "Oh my God, if you touch her, I'll skin you alive." With a perfectly paced plot and a delightful surprise at the end, this book is a flawless 5-star read. I am now wholly invested in this world and desperately hope to see Ava get her own story. There is also a nice surprise almost end of the book , read to find out ;) ... show more

  • Great addition to series!
Format: Kindle
I have loved the Wilds & Blackwell series and was anxious to see workaholic, playboy Blake fall. It was epic. Not only did he fall, it was love at first sight and he had to work really hard. It just made me fall harder for him. Harper came from a rough childhood, saved by her found family but then was in a relationship with a verbally abusive fiancé. She leaves him. Months later she’s heading to her family and gets snowed in with Blake. They have a night neither can forget. Harper winds up back home in the next town and working in the same hospital and his brothers know her brothers. What I loved was that Blake didn’t hesitate, he was going to win her heart, he was determined, he knew she was the one. Harper was a great female lead. She is a survivor. She was funny, smart, friendly, with a heart that wanted to love and be loved but so guarded. Though her past is in her head and causes her anxiety she was determined and strong. Blake is so patient and loving. They had a lot of issues to work through together. It was a rough road. I loved how her and her sister Ava fit in with all the Wild, Blackwell and Lexington women. And it was great to see them all again. Also for those who do not like the surprise pregnancy trope, it was not a main plot point. There were other factors that had to be resolved between them. We also got glimpses of Jules, the girl Brooks loved and hurt him. I am really looking forward to their book. Lots of angst. One night stand She’s been hurt before Doctor/nurse Playboy Dirty talker He falls first and harder Found family Small town romance Surprise pregnancy Spicy ... show more
