4 years ago I'd purchased a couple of throw sized electric blankets. The controllers never worked right. They finally quit working altogether. Decided to get a name brand. This quite large blanket is so soft, covers me completely when sitting at my desk, has a great range for heat settings and time to run. And isn't that much more expensive than the older smaller one(s). I am very happy with the new electric blanket.

An electric blanket with two controls. Perfect. My husband likes to pre-heat his side of the bed on cold nights then turns the setting down to sleep. I don’t even plug my side in. Just having the blanket is enough extra warmth for me. This blanket is on its second winter season. Been washed a couple of times and it is still soft, and comfortable. And most importantly - it still works!

Only the center portion of this blanket heats up. Since I don't like blankets to hang over the edge onto the floor, I bought a full size blanket for my queen sized bed. Unfortunately the blanket plug in is on the far left side of the blanket and not in the middle which makes it impossible to place controller on a night stand on the right hand side. Because of this, I was forced to flip the blanket over. There is a good 18-24" along the entire blanket edge that does not contain wiring for the heat element. Pro: Super soft and silky. Heats up fast. Con: Cord plug in on far left side of blanket. Heating element in blanket is limited to center strip.

We now own two of these electric throws, and two full size electric blankets. The lastest was purchased as a gift for my daughter who uses one of the throws when she visits. We have had multiple Sunbeam brand electric blankets that never held up in the wash. It would destroy the heating ribbon tape in them. The Westinghouse brand is made better than those. The heat elements in them feel more like a coated braided wire and holds up well when machine washes on a gentle cycle. My only sort of complaint, if it is a complaint at all, is that they are too hot. I can only handle them on a low temp, which means they are doing exactly what they are designed to do.

Only had it for like 6 months and it's giving me an error code and is no longer working. It was great during those 6 months, only had to wash it a few times and followed the directions. I'm kind of mad that this decided to break when fall/winter is coming around and I don't have the money to replace it or the time to get it fixed. Shouldn't break like this after not even a year or having it. Edit: they refunded me and have great customer service.
