Unit will fill up quickly with water when using. Drain plug is almost on the ground so it is not easy to drain. Had to lift mine on a stool to step up continuous drainage. Heat works great but blows cold air out of the back because it is a heat pump. You can still use it even if you allow cold air back in to the room. Just takes longer to heat room. It's recommended to send cold air outside the window or hole in the wall. Follow me feature works well keeping the room to temp and from the unit constantly running. I’ve owned Portable Ac’s before and this product is garbage! It is extremely loud, my 10 year old window unit is quieter than this one. This does not blow out the correct temperature you set it too, before it switching to fan mode for absolutely no reason. If you switch it back to cool it continuously runs on fan for at least 5 minutes before blowing cool air again. I have never had such a horrible ac, I figured that with this being brand new it would work so much better and I liked how much smaller it was compared to my old window unit and my older portable, it doesn’t compare at all. I would not buy this again and I’ve returned this one. I highly suggest to buy a different one. I’m just going to stay with my older window unit for my bedroom. I have 3 AC’s for my house, 2 window units and a portable, all of which are a couple years old and they still work better than this one does! Spare yourself the time and trouble by not purchasing this AC. ... show more

Yesterday afternoon I received my WPAC Portable AC unit from Amazon and can say that I am currently happy with my purchase. After opening the box, the first thing I noticed was that it was well packed, with plenty of foam and space provided to protect the unit during shipping. I’ve seen too many boxes that did not provide this buffer so was glad to see that consideration was put into this aspect. Unpacking the box, I notice I thought the unit was a bit shorter than I was expecting, the extra box space being used for the installation materials. The unit is compact and dense for its size so was a bit heavier than I expected but not overly heavy. I unpacked the box and went over the manual, which was a short read. The manual is not big, but it is easier to understand and in clear language. Installation of the unit took just a few minutes as its just a few parts to put on and a plug. I plan to eventually drill a hole in the floor for where it is located so we can later use the continuous drain, our humidity can be high during the summer and fall. Using the provided remote, with included batteries that I don’t have to go out and buy, I turned on my WPAC8000 and tested out its AC and fan features. For such a small AC unit it really got my addon room cold very quickly. In just a few minutes it made the room from sweaty to comfortable. It is also much quieter than the ceiling fans and window units we have in the rest of my home. It creates a soft noise that most people would tune out. ... show more

Heats and cools a bit better than expected. The problem is the drain for the heating side is too low to the ground. The water reservoir is too small. We cannot run the heating all night because in less than 8 hours the reservoir fill and the unit shuts off. The drain is so low that u cannot fit anything normal sized under it to catch the water that drains. Super cool would be a removable reservoir that you could dump. But certainly something with more capacity. ... show more
