  • I'd definitely recommend this product. Just operate within recommended perameters. Works GREAT!
First time I ever used a wood chipper. It worked better than I imagined it would. For larger branches close to size limit just feed it in slowly/gradually, holding back the feed to let the motor gain speed again. The wood chips are almost small enough to be called wood shavings. We used them to mulch around our fruit trees. The output did clog a couple of times, but it is easy to open up the housing to clear it up. Once was my own fault as I let the debris bag get too full and it backed up into the output chute. You can tell by the motor slowing for apparently no other reason that the output chute is clogged or clogging. It's pretty easy to unclog it. Only once did I have the blade freeze. I just turned it off, unplugged it, opened the housing and easily removed the piece caught in the blade. No problem. ... show more

  • Fine chips and a lot of dust
First use and I can say I'm mildly impressed. It did its job but had to selectively choose sticks because some of the wouldn't fit right and would get jammed or I'd have to knock the junction off if the stick with a axe. Also sticks larger that 1 1/2" or so are a no go unless they have wood rot. Hopefully this will last a few seasons as I have pecan trees that drop quite a few sticks year round. ... show more

  • Solid power for a little package, name brand.
I'm doing a lot of clearing at a new property, and the yard waste bin is filling up fast. I thought about renting a wood chipper, but most of the branches I'm cutting down are less than 2". This costs less than the rental and should be able to handle 90% of my waste. And I'll still have it around to chip/shred/compost/mulch in the future. A name brand with a warranty at the same price of the imports, I thought I couldn't go wrong. We'll see how it holds up over the next week while I process all my yard waste. ... show more

  • Don't buy it
One of the worst things I have ever purchased what a peace of junk as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I lost a hundred more dollars on this one.

  • AWESOME!!!!
Super Super easy to put together - 5 minutes and ready to rock and roll!!!!! I looked at all of the small chippers, priced from 109 to 200 - they are all identical - So I went with the name I trust - WESTINGHOUSE Update!!! Just used it - made quick work of a LOT of branches - take your time, enjoy the fresh air, and the chipper will give you all the mulch you'll ever need!!! ... show more

  • It’s better than expected.
I purchased this machine to aid with disposing of spring trimming of trees and bushes. It worked exactly as stated in the manufacturer description. My debris was up to about 1 inch diameter. For the cost it’s a good value. I would have rated it 5 if the assembly instructions were better detailed.

  • Good mulcher, bad paddle
The media could not be loaded. This is my second mulcher and I'm pretty happy with it. I bought it when there were no reviews, so I was a bit nervous at first. It has a lot of weight to it and feels sturdy. As advertised, it is quieter than your average mulcher. The mulch bag a good idea. My previous mulcher had a bin which was nice in theory but you coulden't see how full it was. My only complaint is the horrendous paddle. It constantly gets stuck on the rubber shrapnel pads or the feed edges, requiring me to pull it out with considerable force. Instead of the paddle having a smooth surface, it has a bunch of edges that catches on the machine. My first mulcher had a smooth paddle and could move in and out of the feed chute without friction. This one requires me to constantly fight with the paddle which is frustrating. ... show more
