Had to drill out the holes slightly to make the screw countersink into the chuck stock but after about 15 minutes i was able to fit the pen jaws and the work pretty good for under $20

Overall this is a solid self-centering chuck for the pricepoint. Provides a stronghold for small to medium-sized projects. Seems to hold true to center, but is difficult to tell as I use an old Rockwell lathe that doesn't have the greatest accuracy to begin with. Two complaints (while certainly not deal breakers): 1) If the piece is removed from the jaws and reclamped it is near impossible to find true center again (unless the screw is used) so a quick touch up is required after reclamping 2) Requires a second tightening after a few minutes of use. I don't know if this is common for all chucks as I am a novice turner and have not used a ton of other chucks, but definitely something to be aware of. ... show more

although not listed as compatiable for for wen lathe chuck la4444. The spacing is compatiable. The holes on the pen lathe need to be drilled and tapped for M6 screws. The screws on the LA 4444 almost fit but just need to be bored and retapped just a little bit.
