    • Goes Anywhere ... and It Did
Awesome little grill. True Weber quality with the convenience of a compact, space-saving, easily transportable and storable unit. I like it more than the similarly-priced Smokey Joe. Alas, so did the person who bypassed the Smokey Joe sitting out in the open on a neighbor's patio and went behind a fenced area to steal my Go Anywhere charcoal hibachi. It looked that good after its 3rd summer outside in salt air, rain and snow. So 5 stars for durable. Why I prefer the hibachi-style grill better: It seems sturdier and more stable during use. The legs fold up over the lid to secure it against spillage or critters. You use less charcoal or wood: You can use just one side or use both, depending on what you are making and how many people. It is large enough to handle 4 T-bone steaks, but you can also make just one burger if that is all you need (in which case you only use 1/4 of the space:) There are 2 air vents on top and 2 on each side at the bottom for many adjustment options. All are easy to close so the grill cools down rapidly and you can reuse the remaining charcoal or wood. A favorite feature is that the lid has little tabs that you can use to hang from the top side of the grill. No more putting the lid on the ground, but even better, it acts as a handy wind shield when you are starting your fire. Easy and fun to use. A Smokey Joe user told me they wish they had gotten my Go Anywhere instead. Another turned me on to SureStart firelighting squares, which are great if you are not a fan of charcoal lighter fumes and flavor. Had an older gas version with the flavor tent, which really did help enhance flavor. Apparently they no longer come with that, so not sure I would recommend the new gas one. We now have the space to use charcoal and have enjoyed experimenting with various charcoals (hardwood and lump) and woods. I sure hope that our replacement charcoal grill is of the same quality as the earlier one I bought from Amazon. For some reason, retail stores seem to only carry the gas version of the Go Anywhere grill, which has thwarted my attempt to get a replacement grill on sale. I like this little grill so much that I passed up a half-priced Smokey Joe. Plus the hibachi design is easier to run a bike chain through to make it harder to steal if left outside. Happy Grilling!
