Pros: -really is beautiful. No boring chunks of wood. -Each piece slightly greater the size stated slightly so you get an amount equal to or greater than you paid for. -pieces are chosen to complement each other. -Most pieces can be placed in a variety of positions (right side up, upside down on its side) versus some that can only go in one or 2 sides these are more versatile. -lots of branch or root extensions to create hiding places and underwater worlds -Way way way cheaper than any pet store. -ship fast and packed safe -dirt cleaned off before shipping. Arrived clean without excess bark or rotten wood Cons: -Need to be boiled 2 or 3 times. I actually soaked the wood in a bucket and changed the water a few times, boiled once, put back to soak in bucket a couple days. I boiled one more time and that was probably a little excessive (Some tannins are good for your tank.) -you need to wait to put them in unless you want to boil 3 times (completely boil and then soak in bucket in between boiling every few hours. -Can’t choose any of the pieces. -may need to cut wood to make the shape you want Overall great pieces at a great price. I was really impressed with the wood: I received well packaged and interesting shapes, two larger and one smaller. Like other reviewers noted, there are a LOT of tannins so be aware. I did 3 days of booking (regular water changes once the water was too dark to see thru), then about 2 weeks of soaking with water changes as needed. The two larger prices have been amazing in my tank with no issues, the smaller piece never was able to get saturated enough to sink so it floats in my large aquarium even now after a few months. The two larger pieces have been in my 30 gallon shrimp aquarium about 3 months now with no issues. The smaller piece floats in my 55 gallon aquarium, and still have enough tannins after 3 months of use to cause light water coloration after about 2 weeks (turns to the color of weak ice tea), but it's not unattractive and easily remedied with regular water changes. Doesn't bother the fish, and actually the floating log is a great addition for my top dwellers. All in all, a bit of work on the front end but we'll worth for the price and quality. ... show more

I have bought the 3 pieces 7-11 inches ones first, and like it so much I bought this 2 piece 9-14 inch ones. Even though the receives pieces are around 9-11 inches only, the shapes are nice, so I don't mind is a bit on the small side. The only problem that I have to deduct one star is with the more leggy piece which is one that like more, one of the legs were broken off. I don't know if it is because of shipping or not. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. I will probably glue it back, but the glued joint will probably become more obvious as the piece aged under water. ... show more

Beautiful pieces came quickly to my home. They are as described - as far as any unique item can me, and my fish absolutely LOVE darting in and out of the alcoves created by the wood, which compliments my live plants too. Very pleased with the driftwood for my aquariums. I tried ordering from a different vendor and what was sent to me was a semi burnt piece of firewood that still smelled of smoke. So thank you soo much for not sending me semi burnt wood, and actually sending real, visually pleasing drift wood. If you don't want the tannins make sure to boil it as it does have a good bit of tannins still to it. Though imo that is a benefit. ... show more

The wood it's self is absolutely beautiful, but I've boiled it 7 times, and still soaking it in water trying to get all the stuff out of it.. it's been 2 months since I bought it!! Honestly, I wouldn't care to have paid more if it was completely ready to go in the tank! Just a thought for the ones selling these!! I wanted to let ppl know it takes 2 months or more to have this tank ready!. Cuz nothing on here said it took that long. The pic taken, is right at 2 months.. just know it's work. ... show more

You can see the piece I got in the back right hand side of the aquarium. It was a large, sturdy piece with enough weight to hold it down in the aquarium on its own. I adhered two smaller pieces to the large piece for the exact look I wanted, and then added Java moss to it. I’m super happy with this. It does leach tannins for a couple weeks, but I love the look of natural tannins in the water, so this did not bother me (also, kinda the point of driftwood in an aquarium). I also used some of the smaller pieces on their own in another of my tanks. The smaller pieces do float because they don’t have enough weight, but I glued them to a weighted rock and it worked perfectly. ... show more

I really really appreciate the quality and aesthetics of the pieces sent.
