I wanted to update to say that no fish perished upon putting these in the tanks. My bettas love them. I am going to buy another - my dremel is ready. If you have the ability to smooth the edges or have fish that won't get their fins snagged these are great. If I didn't have a dremel I would not able to use these and that's really a shame because the fish like them and they look great. I read the reviews and knew if there were sharp edges I could dremel them. indeed there were quite a bit of sharp edges on the interior rims of the holes. I shouldn't have to correct that but I didn't mind. Until I got to second rock. There were sharp edges all inside, some of which the dremel could not reach. I also read about fish dying. So I soaked these in a bucket for a few days. No changes in water parameters. They look nice in the tanks. We will see what the fish think. Should any fish mysteriously turn up dead I will update the review, but I don't expect that to happen. This would have been a 5 star review if the manufacturer would take care of the sharp edges which seems like it wouldn't be that hard. ... show more
