I don't save anything to my hard drive. It's all save to this external hard drive. It has a large amount of space. It's small enough to fit into pocket, purse or drop into your computer bag. I also ordered a small hard case for it to protect it if it's ever dropped. Keeping passwords altogether on paper is not very secure, but a spreadsheet saved on this is great. You can protect it with a separate password. I trust Western Digital. I also have another one for separate use for work. One for work, one for home. ... show more

so, I won't speak to price, but today your pc can be under daily attack, so I keep the stuff i want private I keep on an external drive that I plug in when I need access and unplug when not needing access to those files. This drive does that w/out fail. Its fast, hasn't failed, easy plug in/out without a glitch. There was a definite learning curve with this but once I got past it it became a breeze to use. The storage capacity is great, more than enough. There was a bug when initially installing the software. But I found an easy fix online. Im hoping I wont have to purchase anymore hard drives in the future as this is easy to use and had plenty of space for my needs ... show more

Backup your stuff. I own this in orange and in black, got teal for my sister when I realized she didn’t have anything to back up her desktop to. I like to keep two backups, one in a fire safe or friends house and one I keep at my home and rotate between the two to keep a current-ish copy.

Since I back up Word documents, .jpg files etc this is a very quick drive. I have about 1,400 documents and I backup one drive to the other and it only takes 20 seconds or so.
