I own both the Dyson Airwrap styler and the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, and while this diffuser attachment works fine, I definitely prefer the original diffuser that comes with the hair dryer. This one is noticeably heavier and can make longer styling sessions tiring. It does the job and fits securely, but it doesn’t cover as much hair at once, so drying takes a bit longer. It’s not a bad product by any means - it’s functional and does what it’s supposed to, but if you’re deciding between the two and have both devices, the lighter diffuser from the hair dryer might be the better choice for everyday use. Upd. That said, while writing this review, I realized that the smaller head means more concentrated heat in a smaller area - so for some people, especially those wanting to target specific sections or add definition, that could actually be a plus.

I have a knock-off dryer that looks and functions like the brand this diffuser was designed to fit. I wasn't sure if the attachment notches would fit my dryer but they do! Yay! I like the big bowl for setting waves in and preventing my wavy hair from going frizzy. The diffuser insert really limits the air pressure coming through it, so even when my dryer is blowing on its most powerful setting, what comes out of the diffuser is much, much softer. I wondered at first if there were some vents to be turned open to let more air flow through at one time. However, I think this soft flow of air is probably ideal to set in ringlet curls. I really like the very large bowl size when the insert is removed. I can fit a lot of my long hair inside at once.

This Wave+Curl Diffuser Attachment for the Dyson Airwrap is every bit as good as the name brand—if not better in some ways! It fits my Airwrap (HS01, HS05, HS08, and i.d) perfectly and snaps on securely without any fuss. I absolutely love how it enhances my curls, adding volume and definition while reducing frizz. The airflow is evenly distributed, and the upgraded design feels sturdy, high-quality, and built to last. It doesn’t overheat, and it works beautifully on both wet and damp hair. The diffuser fits the Dyson Airwrap perfectly and functions as expected for styling. However, the strong plastic smell during use is a big drawback. Even after several uses, the odor hasn’t dissipated. It’s effective for its purpose, but the smell makes the experience less enjoyable.
