  • Fabulous!!!
I've been a fan of Dyson for many years. Dyson holds up in longevity and quality as well as innovative design. I’ve always wanted to try the Dyson brand hair tools and leapt at the opportunity to get my hands on one myself. The Dyson Supersonic r does not disappoint! From the moment I picked it up, I could feel the difference. It's incredibly lightweight, making drying my thick 4B/C hair so much more comfortable. One of my favorite things about this hair tool is the precision drying. It is a game-changer. My hair feels noticeably smoother and shinier after each use. I've also noticed less hair tangling and significant reduction in frizz, which is a huge plus for those of us with 4B/C hair. And knowing that the intelligent heat control is protecting my hair from damage gives me t confidence that I’m not applying too much heat to my delicate hair strands. The attachments are fantastic! I’m a huge sucker for a hair dryer with a comb attachment. It makes drying hair so much easier. And the diffuser is perfect for enhancing my natural waves on days I want to embrace them. What really sets the Supersonic r apart is its unique design. Reaching the areas at the back of my head is so much simpler. The overall aesthetic is so ergonomic, and futuristic making hair drying less tedious. I absolutely adore the Dyson Supersonic r and recommend it to anyone! ... show more

  • super fast dry, powerful!!
I’m really surprised by other reviews, because I LOVE this dryer. Do I think it’s worth the hefty price? Maybe for a professional stylist. It dries my hair really quick, even faster than my T3, which is saying something. It’s super powerful and can get hot, so I use it on medium or low and I’m ok with that! The attachments stay on and they’re easy to change out. It’s VERY lightweight and I love the design, it’s way less painful for my arms to dry with this shape I think. My favorite attachment is the comb, because it really does uncurl my curly hair to get a good flat iron on it. Preps it well! My least fav attachment is the frizz one, but it’s me, I’m still learning to use that one properly. ... show more

  • Great if you have extensions or thick hair!
I wanna start off with this is a very great hairdryer! Definitely something I would add to my hair tool collection. It’s in economically easy to hold and handle, but does take a bit to get used to if you are used to standard design hairdryers. I have thick hair with hair extensions so having a powerful hairdryer is an absolute must otherwise my hair takes several hours to air dry, this dryer has drastically cut down my dry time without tangling up my hair during the drying process. I love the attachments and how easy they are to connect and disconnect makes styling my hair, easy without too much effort. It’s not super quiet, but not loud, I would say it’s on the quieter side compared to most hairdryers. I do believe the box on the cord is kind of an inconvenience and isn’t easy to move around. As far as price tag goes, it’s a bit pricey if you can afford it, it’s worth it in my opinion… all in all it’s a great tool I would recommend it ... show more

  • Doesn't live up to the hype
I just don't get the hype. I have heard about Dyson hairdryers for years. But this is the first time I've had a chance to order one to test. I have tested many professional-grade dryers that are similar to Dyson, and I have to say having the real brand-name version isn't as big of a difference as I expected, especially at this price point. Yes, the hand-held portion is very lightweight, but the cord, which is extra long, has a very heavy transformer on it toward the plug end. The total hairdryer (unit plus cord) is actually much heavier than my other light-weight hairdryers. The transformer on the cord is huge, bulky and takes up valuable counter space. And if you don't have a deep counter, the transformer has to stretch across and sit in the middle of the counter where you would rather have other styling tools. I don't know many salon stations that have huge empty spaces to fit a bulky transformer. Yes, the hair dryer itself is powerful, with three speed settings and three heat settings, plus a cool shot. For my fine shoulder-length hair, I use speed two, heat two. Otherwise my hair gets really tangled, and I worry about heat damage as the highest setting is very hot - probably hotter than other dryers, which may be useful for some hair types. The only thing that is, in my mind, unique about this dryer is that the attachments all have RFID chips in them. Once you figure out the various uses (I looked up videos online) and fine-tune the heat and speed settings you like, the attachments will automatically adjust your settings to whatever was used last. I can see where a professional hairstylist would appreciate having all of the different attachments and saving the time when they have to change them out. But is that feature worth the huge price tag? I'm not a professional stylist, but after using this dryer several times, I'm going to say it's not. Buying this dryer is a huge investment, and in my opinion, I don't think it's better than other professional-grade dryers that are at a lower price point. ... show more

  • *** Two Takes, good on second try. Normally Dyson has great quality products.
The first unit ordered would not stay powered at all. Worked with Dyson to trouble shoot, but they said to return the product as defective and replace it. The second unit came, delayed shipment but the unit worked, and my wife loved it. Better power from last model. Two weeks later and the same issue, power and fan comon for a seconed, ligts flash and nothing. It is not over heating, not clogged, not dirty fan, its brand new..... Dyson is replacing it again and need to wait ~2 months for them to send it after they receive the one back. Stars keep gooing down ... show more
