Original Review: I have had this hair dryer for about six months and it has started to make a high pitched noise and shuts off. This is extremely disappointing for such a hyped up dryer. I have my old 7 year old dryer I will have to go back to. I have never dropped this dryer and keep it on a stand in my bathroom. I will see if the manufacturer can help. Edit: Well, whatever mechanical issues the hair dryer had are now gone! I don’t know if something had jostled lose inside or if it was just a bad bearing, but one day it just started working again without notice. No complaints here! It’s a very nice hairdryer, and I like the different hair attachments. They snap on magnetically and are designed for different hair types. I use the curly hair attachment and my daughter uses the straightener attachment to help straighten her curly hair.

I cannot believe I debated on ordering this for so long! I love my Dyson! It dries my long 20” hair quickly without over-drying. The air intake is at the bottom of the handle which is much better than the back of the air shaft - my hair never gets caught. The attachments are perfect. I absolutely love the flyaway attachment as I have fine hair with layers, and sometimes it looks like pure frizz. The flyaway attachment tucks my layers to give me a great curved under look. This blow dryer shape is also mush easier to pack in my carry-on luggage than a traditional blow dryer. It’s lighter weight and so much more convenient. I’ll never use anything else!

Short story: The hairdryer itself is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, in my opinion, but the hairdryer that I received from Amazon was 🌟, because it was used and dirty. Long story: I ordered this from Amazon and I received a used product. I was not happy at all. To spend over $350 on a hairdryer and it comes to my home, used, was a major disappointment. Since then, I returned the blow dryer to Amazon, an ordered it from the company itself, and I love it! I have 4A to 4B type curls, and I straighten my hair every week. The blow dryer is Surprisingly effective and dries my hair much faster. It normally takes about 20 to 25 minutes to dry my hair after washing, but this took me just over 10 minutes to completely dry my hair. There is a little bit of a learning curve, because you cannot put your hand around the very bottom of the handle, because that is where the Air return is, and you have to figure out the buttons, because you cannot easily see them (they are facing away from the blow dryer). The magnetic attachments are incredibly sturdy, and I now understand why this blow dryer is so expensive. It comes with a beautiful storage case, and I don’t know if I can ever go back to a regular hairdryer. It is possible to have a conversation/watch something on your iPad while doing your hair. You will have to raise your voice a little bit if the fan is on the highest speed, but it is not nearly as loud as a standard blow dryer. I have heard people mention that it is heavier than other blow dryers, but I did not really notice a difference. Once you know where to hold it, it is very easy to hold and maneuver. This was my first experience ever using a concentrator on a blow dryer, and it was very easy to figure out.

I'm 82, with short hair I've continued to "set" with rollers, for years (I also cut my own hair - have done so for decades and people ask me who my hairdresser is). Decided to give Dyson a try - regardless of cost. without looking at instructional videos, within minutes (seconds?) after a shower, I was able to blow-dry a substantive "do." for my mane. I may be able to further perfect the process over time, but what I have now is excellent for me. I'm fortunate not to have to consider the price excessive, given the instant reward that might, otherwise, only be obtained through ministrations of a pricey stylist
