Original Review: I have had this hair dryer for about six months and it has started to make a high pitched noise and shuts off. This is extremely disappointing for such a hyped up dryer. I have my old 7 year old dryer I will have to go back to. I have never dropped this dryer and keep it on a stand in my bathroom. I will see if the manufacturer can help. Edit: Well, whatever mechanical issues the hair dryer had are now gone! I don’t know if something had jostled lose inside or if it was just a bad bearing, but one day it just started working again without notice. No complaints here! It’s a very nice hairdryer, and I like the different hair attachments. They snap on magnetically and are designed for different hair types. I am like many others, I see the price and go "Good god, that much for a dryer? No way the price is worth it." I am so sad to report it is, in fact, worth the price. - You can notice the difference immediately upon first use. My hair is dense, thick, wavy hair. Most hair dryers I have tried over the years, take at least 10-20 minutes when drying right out the shower. I also tend to start sweating, as I have to take a longer time thus heating up my scalp. - The dyson dried my hair out the shower in 5 MINUTES. Yes 5 MINUTES. I was stunned. The heat settings are well programmed, as the medium and low settings do not overheat the scalp over a period of time. The cold button was fast and responsive. - I was skeptical of its design, with the open blower, but it works perfect. In fact, I like the longer handle, as I can more easily get to the back of my head. The weight is perfect, just heavy enough and just light enough to not strain the hand. - The attachments are also excellent. The fast drying attachment does exactly as it says, so does the fly away attachment. Now I have just one con: - It does not come with a travel bag. For being expensive as it is, its silly it does not come with a travel bag. Despite my initial scoffing at the price, I can confidently say this is absolutely worth the price. I will warn, the supersonic is similar to a basic hair dryer. If you want to do curling, straightening, etc, you need to get the other dyson hair dryer. For me, the basics is all I need, but if I decide to style my hair more, I would definitely consider getting the other dyson dryer. ... show more

Bought this for my wife a little over a year ago because she burns out hair dryers within 1-2 years. I figured I'd spend the money to get her what seems like a hair dryer that will last. So far so good and she loves it. She says it dries her hair quicker than the others she's owned. I'll edit my review if the durability/reliability isn't what it should be. I purchased this promising, futuristic hair dryer in December 2024. I enjoyed its light weight and ease, and ability to dry quickly. It stopped working in February 2026 — exactly 14 months after buying it. At $343.27 for a hairdryer, I EXPECTED A NORMAL LIFESPAN! 0 stars. There is no way to repair it. YouTube advises to dismantle it, clean out various things, and weld it back together. Ridiculous. I’m embarrassed that I bought it and the hype surrounding it ... show more

Fantastic blow dryer. Maybe little expense but I can blower dry/style my hair within about 6 minutes. This blower will not permanently dry out your hair. I always receive compliments on my hair.

I was nervous to buy this hairdryer because of its high cost, but after using it for a couple months I have pros and cons of this hairdryer (mostly pros). This hairdryer is great! Compared to other hairdryers, the sound is smoother and not annoying. The hairdryer has some weight to it showing it is made of a great durable material. The hairdryer dries hair at a decent rate on normal mode. I like how you can change the airflow level and the temperature level and that there is a cool button. I have very thick long hair. Drying it on the lowest setting or the coolest setting has me drying my hair for like 15 minutes or more to have it somewhat dry. It is better to alternate between modes. There is the cool button but holding on to it sometimes can be annoying based on placement of the button. Nevertheless, the option to control the heat and airflow is a gamechanger. I bought this hairdryer because I wanted to make sure not to damage my hair and its great to be able to switch modes. Just keep in mind different modes may require you to take a longer time. The attachments are nice for styling. The hairdryer does give a more premium drying experience. It is a good investment. ... show more
