I cannot believe I debated on ordering this for so long! I love my Dyson! It dries my long 20” hair quickly without over-drying. The air intake is at the bottom of the handle which is much better than the back of the air shaft - my hair never gets caught. The attachments are perfect. I absolutely love the flyaway attachment as I have fine hair with layers, and sometimes it looks like pure frizz. The flyaway attachment tucks my layers to give me a great curved under look. This blow dryer shape is also mush easier to pack in my carry-on luggage than a traditional blow dryer. It’s lighter weight and so much more convenient. I’ll never use anything else!

Original Review: I have had this hair dryer for about six months and it has started to make a high pitched noise and shuts off. This is extremely disappointing for such a hyped up dryer. I have my old 7 year old dryer I will have to go back to. I have never dropped this dryer and keep it on a stand in my bathroom. I will see if the manufacturer can help. Edit: Well, whatever mechanical issues the hair dryer had are now gone! I don’t know if something had jostled lose inside or if it was just a bad bearing, but one day it just started working again without notice. No complaints here! It’s a very nice hairdryer, and I like the different hair attachments. They snap on magnetically and are designed for different hair types. I use the curly hair attachment and my daughter uses the straightener attachment to help straighten her curly hair.

As a salon owner I can say: Best hair dryer ever!! It’s light weight, light on noise, extremely powerful and won’t burn your hair! Worth every penny! This is what I called value on a product. Forget about the price, this is a really good product!!

Functionality issues In less than a year of use, the dryer stopped working properly: it no longer blows hot air. This has been a major disappointment, as I expected durability and quality in line with the price I paid. Expectations vs. reality When I chose Dyson, I did so trusting that I was acquiring a high-end product, designed to last and deliver top performance. However, this early malfunction shows that an expensive product does not always guarantee quality or longevity. Conclusion I definitely do not recommend the Dyson hair dryer. I feel it was a poor purchase decision, especially given the money spent and the excitement of giving something special. If someone is looking for a reliable, long-lasting hair dryer as a gift or for personal use, my advice is to look for other options on the market.

Dyson products have never disappointed me yet. They are very pricey yes. And whether it is worth the premium over competing products is very different from one person to the next. Their hair dryer has the strongest motor for this type of form factor hair dryer that I have used. Other “fan-less” dryers severely lack this aspect and often have poor air flow/ pressure. The attachments are quality and the sound is much quieter than alternatives! Dries my hair much faster and has a button that blows cold air in an instant!

I’ve been using the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer for several months now, and it has completely changed my hair routine. What used to take 20–30 minutes now takes under 10, and my hair feels smoother, shinier, and far less frizzy—without needing extra heat or styling products. I was nervous to buy this hairdryer because of its high cost, but after using it for a couple months I have pros and cons of this hairdryer (mostly pros). This hairdryer is great! Compared to other hairdryers, the sound is smoother and not annoying. The hairdryer has some weight to it showing it is made of a great durable material. The hairdryer dries hair at a decent rate on normal mode. I like how you can change the airflow level and the temperature level and that there is a cool button. I have very thick long hair. Drying it on the lowest setting or the coolest setting has me drying my hair for like 15 minutes or more to have it somewhat dry. It is better to alternate between modes. There is the cool button but holding on to it sometimes can be annoying based on placement of the button. Nevertheless, the option to control the heat and airflow is a gamechanger. I bought this hairdryer because I wanted to make sure not to damage my hair and its great to be able to switch modes. Just keep in mind different modes may require you to take a longer time. The attachments are nice for styling. The hairdryer does give a more premium drying experience. It is a good investment.
