Top Amazon Reviews

  • Like most people, I was very hesitant to buy a chair on Amazon. I've been pleasantly surprised.
Color: Dark Brown Size: Medium
I suspect that most people are very hesitant when considering the purchase of this chair or any furniture, for that matter, from Amazon. I sure was! The mechanism on my old manual recliner broke so I had to find a replacement. I read the reviews of numerous recliners on Amazon and most of them were not good. I kept coming back to this recliner because I liked the way it looked. But I always read the reviews and I make it a point to read the negative reviews because they often describe a deal-breaking issue with a product. Most of the reviews for this recliner were positive but there was an odd inconsistency in some, especially the negative reviews. I found it funny when I read the reviews by large people who said the chair is very large and then read negative reviews by small people who said the chair was WAY too small. If I remember correctly, one person even claimed in that nobody over 5' 7" could possibly fit in the chair. Again, if I remember correctly, they even exclaimed in capital letters that the chair is SMALL SMALL SMALL or TINY TINY TINY. So, how could a large person claim the chair is very large and a small person insist it's to small? I put off my decision for a while. In that time, I checked some websites for brick and mortar furniture stores in the area. The prices were insane! Most acceptable chairs of this type were $2,000.00 to $3,000.00! I like quality but that's simply too much. Also, I'm at the point where I absolutely hate to go to any physical stores these days with the exception of hardware stores like HD. (I love tools!) So, it was back to Amazon. Now, I should mention for reference that I'm 6' tall and about 250 pounds. The chair was delivered today. The box had damage on a couple sides including one large damaged side that was taped together so I took pictures of the box before opening it in case the chair was damaged. I'm not blaming the seller or manufacturer because the damage probably happened in transit. Fortunately, the chair had no damage and is in perfect condition. Assembly was straight forward. I see that some people said the zipper was difficult to zip up but we didn't have a problem with it. But, like some other reviewers mentioned, the talon for the zipper is on the inside not the outside which isn't a problem but it just seemed odd. It took ten or fifteen minutes to finish assembly. My first thought when the chair was assembled was, "This chair is BIG!" (So much for it being SMALL" or "TINY". I wonder if the person(s) who said the chair is very small reviewed the wrong chair. Also, as most Amazon shoppers probably know, reviews are often mixed together with different products so you don't know what product the review is for. In any case, the chair is not small, let alone tiny. I actually wanted a smaller chair because the place where it used is very tight. Side by side with my old recliner, this one is substantially larger. But perhaps the best way to describe it's size is to mention that when I sit in it, I have about 3 inches of empty space on each side of my body. And, again, I'm 6' tall and about 250 pounds. I actually wish it was smaller but it'll do fine. Another reviewer complaint was that their feet wouldn't touch the floor when the chair is upright. My legs are "normal" length for my height. I have a 32" inseam. My feet easily reach the floor even with just socks on. In fact, I can still plant my feet on the floor about 2 feet in front of the chair. It's perfectly comfortable. Of course, very short people may not be able to place their feet on the floor. I can only speak for myself but I'm mentioning this as a reference for people considering the purchase of this chair. I really was looking for a manual chair. I like the idea of keeping things simple and having less things to fail but I didn't find a manual recliner that I like. Also, the manual mechanism broke on my old chair because it was probably more complex than a motorized chair. I love to fix things but the way it broke it was unfixable. Quality: One reviewer said that the chair is top tier quality. Well, it isn't. Truly top tier recliners costs thousands of dollars. But the quality of this chair is very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, in fact. And it's very comfortable contrary to at least one reviewer's complaint that it was incredibly uncomfortable and that the seat was like sitting on a board. That's simply not true. It's very comfortable, in my opinion. In fact, about an hour after I assembled it, I feel asleep in it. This chair is a very good value. Value is what I look for in most things I buy. And my five star rating is based on how I perceive the value of this chair. The leather is good but not the greatest. It's not the very thick whole grain leather that you see on very expensive furniture but it's as good or better than most leather furniture. Only a very picky leather lover accustomed to very high-end (expensive) furniture would probably be disappointed with the leather of this chair. So, for most people, leather quality of this chair is not an issue. Speaking of leather, very often I see people who obviously think Top Grain leather is the best. They complain when a leather product they purchased was said to be "top grain" but what they received was low-quality leather. Actually, top grain leather is one of the worst leather grades. It's a misleading term that the leather industry uses, probably intentionally. So, if you're buying leather products, do yourself a favor and go online and look up what the different leather grades are. Again, Top Grain leather is almost at the bottom, quality wise. Full grain leather is the really good grade. There are other grades in-between. Become informed before buying leather goods. Now, I can't say for sure if the entire chair is real leather. Faux leather has become so realistic that it can be hard for anyone but an expert to tell the difference. That said, I suspect that maybe the back and side panels are faux leather (pleather). But, if that's the case, it's no problem. It's well done and those aren't wear areas anyway. Then again, it may be all real leather. In any case, most people will be very happy with it. The motors are smooth and quiet. Now, if there was one thing I would like to be different beside the size of the chair - and this is such a minor thing that I hesitate to even mention it - is that I wish the back and the footrest could be controlled independently. The way it works is as you press the button to recline the chair, the footrest starts rising up alone. Then, at some point, the back starts to recline as the footrest continues to rise. They are locked together in their cycle. The reason I wish they could be controlled independently is that. at some angles of recline, I wish I could lower the footrest a bit. But that may just be me. I have very tight tendons behind my knees and the chair is very slightly uncomfortable for me at certain recline positions. It's fine in most positions and when in full recline. On the other hand, maybe those slightly uncomfortable (and I stress "slightly") positions may be therapeutic for me in that they may help to stretch my tight tendons. Bottom line: I recommend this chair as a very good value. I would also take some of the complaints with a grain of salt because they are simply untrue, in my opinion. The chair is not SMALL or TINY by any stretch of the imagination. Nor is it only made for very small people or children, and the seat is not as hard as a board. I'm very happy with our purchase and I think I'll go sit in it after I post this review and I'll probably fall asleep in it. BTW, my wife is very happy with it too. ... show more

  • Very good quality, nice recliner
Color: Dark Brown Size: Oversize
quality is very nice. Fits a large 6 ft 2 man very well and feels sturdy under the weight. It came in 3 boxes so it was manageable to get into the house and assemble. We are older, with injuries, so it took both of us to carry in the seat! LOL The chair was easy to assemble. Back support is very comfortable. The electric recline works very smooth - it does have a whine as it is reclining. The price of the chair is fair for this quality of chair. I would recommend this chair to others. The headrest also adjusts which is very convenient and allows additional adjustment for comfort. It is a very nice looking chair. We really did not want an electric recliner but have actually found this to be a very nice feature and it works where it is located in the living room so no one has to step over the cord. The USB charger on the chair is very handy. Never really had a desire for this on a chair but actually very pleased with this feature ... show more

  • Great chair for a great price. Half the price of store bought chairs
Color: Cream Size: Oversize
First, I love this chair. For me, it's extremely comfortable because of the firmness of the cushion. I have a bad back and the firmness is good for me. I understand that it could be too firm for some people. The chair was very easy to assemble. We thought the instructions were not included so we put it together without the instructions which we found after we finished. The fact that we can have the chair so close to the wall is very convenient. The leather, whether real or not, is still very comfortable and soft. I would give it 5 star except for a couple of things. First, my wife and I are 67 and carrying the base upstairs was a challenge. Should have called our son-in-law. Secondly, the arm rests don't seem to be as stable as I would have hoped. I would have thought they would have been attached to something solid. ... show more

  • Well worth it!
Color: Navy Size: Oversize
This chair is just right for a big man like me. I'm over 200 KG. It's a perfect fit. Firm but not overly so. I had a rough time assembling it because I'm disabled. The power headrest does not work but the power recliner does. Not a big deal. This chair is heavy. Make no mistake. That's why I had to have one like this. The leather is decent quality. I've seen way better but only on $2000 chairs. I'm happy with the purchase. The height and width are good and just right. The recline angle is perfect for me. ... show more

Purchased this chair when my other "CONTROL MODULE" began to show wear and started to lean a bit! This chair assembled quickly and is of very good quality! Love the color and the leather appears to be top-notch! The controls work easily and adjust nine ways to Sunday! Very comfortable chair (I'm 6' and a bit over 250 lbs) and it accommodates me with ease! Only time will tell if it holds its own as my new command center! LOL! ... show more

  • We needed something else, we kept this recliner! It's a keeper!
Color: Cream Size: Medium
Excellent sitting chair and very comfortable for anything else you do when sitting and relaxing. First off the creamy white color is beautiful, this is not some slick, shiny, or stiff material like you'd see at your dentist's office. The material is supple gives easy to the hand, legs and seat, everything that contacts it. Now we love it so much we decided to keep this recliner, even after we realized in our fury of examining all of the pluses and minuses of several model's of recliners, this is not a power forward lift chair. it is simply a recliner that is easy to operate, takes up a minimal footprint of floor space and most of all looks and feels good to sit in. The construction is top of the marquis, from the metal framing and sturdy steel brackets which supports and holds the chair, the stitching is tight, no loose strings, inner padding luxurious when you put your sore, stiff body down to relax and catch a nap. We dealt with there customer service people about other issues and they are polite, professional and knowledgeable about their products. Some faux leathers squeak and groan until they get broke in. No need here, the quality of materials is, this chair, and at a very good price, given the economic uncertainty worldwide right now. Again this is not a power lift assist chair, it is a power recliner, both the back of the chair and leg rest are motor controlled with convenient rocker switches off to the side on the right arm of the chair. This chair was not what we realized when we unboxed it, but it sold itself, quietly as we both tried it out. Last, I'm the guy who is always critical of a negative service experience or product, I don't write glowing reviews very often, but this chair deserves the accolades I have given it. Buy it! It is a keeper! ... show more

  • Lovely, simple with update
Color: Navy Size: Medium
11.23.2025Update after 2 months: quality made. It does continue to squeak a bit when I'm motion. Customer service said that should go away. Hasn't yet. Chair is quite short (feet hang off the end) and the neck pillow is low for me (5'6") I had hoped the for rest and back rest were independent, but not so and does not lay all the way flat.It is still more firm than I had hoped. Many of my expectations were due to comparing to a power Lift recliner so not really flaws. That being said, it is a very nice recliner and should last my lifetime. I would buy furniture from this company again......... 9.25.2025 So, this is written on day 3, so it isn't really a review on the chair's long term quality. I'll come back for that after a few months. Meanwhile I just have to comment on the packing and shipping and assembly. It arrived 3 days early by fed ex, there were clear simple instructions printed on the box for opening; the instructions for assembly were brief and easy to read and follow. The chair is gorgeous. The leather is beautiful and flawless. The reclining and headrest is smooth and simple. It is a wall hugger which is really convenient. Support is very good and firm. I expect it to soften a bit with use but lumbar is just right. Now about the fit: this is NOT a recliner for a tall person. I'm 5'6",150 lbs and my feet are off the edge of the footrest, my head is a bit taller than the top. Seat is plenty wide and deep. Does not recline to a completely flat position. I'm very happy with it so far. Again, I will return after my hip replacement and let you know how it is doing. Thank you Watson & Whitely. ... show more

  • Firm but comfortable
Color: Dark Brown Size: Oversize
1st time buying furniture online. Great value. One person can put it together in 20ish minutes but 2 people would make it easier. Read reviews of the zipper being hard to connect but that wasn't my experience no harder than a jacket zipper. Super firm but hopefully it will break in just fine. Materials aren't high end but 800.00 doesn't buy premium but it is nice and appears durable. Adjustable headrest is perfect and the 1 button that returns the chair back right without hitting the headrest and recliner buttons is a great feature. Smooth and quiet operation hopefully the motor last as long as the materials. If you are 5'10" plus get this "oversized" chair under 5'9" a regular would be fine. It was hard parting with my old chair so hopefully this will be my new old chair. ... show more
