  • Water snake shadow FWDR54/48
Style: 54-pound Thrust, 48-inch Shaft, 12-volt
Maden voyage tomorrow, will update. Mounted same as my old Minn Kota power drive 40lb Fit and finish looks very well. No trouble installing, but I will get the quick mount to store for the winter. Controller plug is slightly difficult to attach (tight fit) but my son makes it easy so it might be me. Took it out for the first time, ran well. 2.5 mph on high on my 16 ft loaded down boat. Plenty of torque for trolling. Variable speed is smooth. Nice motor so far. ... show more

  • Foot pedal button sticking fix
Style: 54-pound Thrust, 48-inch Shaft, 12-volt
Before I bought I read about the buttons getting stuck when pressing them to manuever the boat. This definitley happend and its unusable with that defect. I took the top casing off the pedal. They have like 15 screws holding the casing on. I decided that the casing was the issue causing the buttons to stick so I only used the 4 corner screws when i put the casing back on. This has fixed the issue and the motor and pedal worked great after that. Ive only used it once since then for 4 hours. Im sure the casing had to many screws binding the foot control buttons and that small adjustment fixes the issue and the casing still fits securely. No idea why they used so many screws to begin with. Does a good job when its working so far anyway. Its cheap and works with a quick adjustment ... show more

  • STARTED OUT GREAT - FOLLOW UP 09/12/23
Style: 54-pound Thrust, 54-inch Shaft, 12-volt
after replacing the foot control, checking voltage to the head, it still doesn't work. I followed up with service and they are out of options - they said I could spend MORE MONEY replacing the speed control $100 with no guarantee - so my option was to throw an additional $100 on top of the $70 I spent on a new foot control - this would bring it up to almost half of what paid for the original motor. I PURCHASED THIS MOTOR IN JULY OF 2022, A LITTLE OVER ONE MONTH PAST THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY WHEN IT FIRST MALFUNCTIONED. IT WAS ONLY USED ABOUT SIX TIMES AND TWO OF THOSE WHERE MALFUNCTIONS. WATER SNAKE DIDN'T EVEN OFFER A PRORATED DISCOUNT ON A REPLACEMENT - THEY JUST SAID THAT THEY WERE OUT OF IDEA ON SOLUTIONS. I'LL CHALK IT UP TO A LESSION LEARNED BUYING OFF BRANDS AND STICK WITH PROVEN NAMED BRAND TROLLING MOTORS WITH LOCAL DEALERS AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I'M NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER AND I WOULD CHANGE THE RATING TO ZERO IF POSSIBLE! I ordered the 50lb bow mount trolling motor. It worked well for the first three times and then it started to malfunction every time I used it. The first time the motor worked for about an hour of on and off use then the controls quit working. The controls wouldn't respond to input and went into high speed mode in a left hand turn. The only way to get control of the boat was to disconnect the power source. I ordered a new foot control and tried it again. Same problem - after short use the motor went into high speed in a left hand turn and no controls so I had to disconnect the power source to regain control of the boat. I've been in contact with Mike in US customer service (very helpful and nice to deal with) but the problem continues. The corporate office in Australia keeps wanting me to run diagnostic on the trolling motor which I have no means of doing myself and will have to pay. As of this time I'm stuck with a four hundred dollar boat anchor - not very happy and cannot recommend this product - If Watersnake can fix this problem and offer a viable solution I'll happily revise my review. ... show more

  • Excellent value and quality
Style: 54-pound Thrust, 54-inch Shaft, 12-volt
Installed on my Fish 16' pontoon and am amazed how powerful and easy to use this is. I did not want to spend thousands on the other well known trolling motor company on a boat that is not used frequently. I believe if I had to the time to fish everyday I would still use the Watersnake.

  • In Love!
Style: 54-pound Thrust, 54-inch Shaft, 12-volt
A year ago, I bought a great little used boat and trailer. Stripped everything down and rebuilt both of them. They turned out better than new! Father's Day comes along, and the wife asked me what I wanted. I already had a bow mounted trolling motor. I even installed foot switches in the decking. However, they only provided momentary functionality. No directional control. When she asked me what I wanted I decided it was time to move into the big league. I have a Watersnake motor on the stern. I have been very pleased with that motor. So, I decided to get the Watersnake 'Shadow' for the bow. I had to reconfigure the mount I designed and built for a bow mounted motor. I finally get the chance to take the "Minnow" out for a test run of the new motor. Why did I wait so long? This motor is incredible! Within thirty minutes I was cruising the shoreline and inlets effortlessly lining up my casts. I was able to adjust to wind, currents and obstacles with ease. The ability to adjust and control direction, speed and momentary/continuous operation became intuitive very quickly. I give the Watersnake motor my highest recommendation! Outstanding Value. Fast delivery. Outstanding packaging. High quality construction. Extremely well-designed mounting system. Lots of power. Unbeatable price. Made by Aussies! What are you waiting for?
