  • Outstanding
Size: 18 l Color: Charcoal
As I buy more equipment, I constantly need larger bags. (Or I should quit buying more lenses.) This is my FOURTH bag from MIndShift and it is consistent with the outstanding quality of my previous MindShift bags. I won't buy anything else. I would, however, buy the next size up if I were to buy again. Although my lenses fit, I personally need more room for "stuff" in the front pockets. WORTH THE INVESTMENT in every way! ... show more

  • Get this bag...do not despair..
Size: One Size Color: Tahoe Blue
Ok. I have a few travel bags and messenger bags and everyone knows there is no perfect bag. But I used this bag as a travel bag on a flight and then used another ThinkTank product for my city travels. This review is strictly for the Sony A7 users, no offense intended. I was able to put a Sony 70-300 lens at the bottom of the bag that detaches. Then a 14mm Rokinon on one side and a Sony 55mm on the other. The camera had a 25mm lens attached to it and i could rest it in the bag and zip it up. This lens range is all I needed for a trip to Greece since I was only spending a weekend on Corfu..but I still had to get there and this is where this bag came in handy. I was able to pack a gorilla tripod, 2 cargo pants (convertible type), 3 shirts, 3 underwear, a rain jacket, socks Goal Zero solar panel and all my toiletries at the top of the bag. I stashed a pair of sandals in the side pocket. All my batteries, cables, additional cars were stored in the top pocket. I didn't need my iPad on this trip but could have easily slid it in the bag. I also hand carried a ThinkTank CityWalker bag on the plane with me. The only thing in it was a fleece jacket and my toiletries to quickly show the security personnel. This is the bag for you if you are Sony user since I could stash 4 lenses in the bottom portion of the bag. I hiked a few trails with the bag and the swivel motion of the bag is easy even though I thought it would be difficult. I basically stashed all the clothing in the hotel or rental car and did day trips to various locations. I normally use the CityWalker 10 but my shoulder starts to wear down after a few days. I have a MeFoto travel tripod as well, but I knew I wasn't going to be using it so I didn't bring it along but I had it in the same spot as the sandals on another trip. Is the backpack perfect? Well..its pretty damn close. a friend has the smaller version so I will test that out, but I'm not sure it can beat this bag...remember..this bad was really used as a carry on for a flight and it certainly worked its part. I have no problem answering any questions you have about my travels. ... show more

  • Best camera pack for all-day hiking
Size: 18 l Color: Charcoal
I hike the deserts and mountains of Utah and I've purchased many camera packs over the years searching for the perfect day hiking pack. Most packs emphasize space for camera gear and extol their ability to carry everything you could ever need photographically. Once fully loaded they become too heavy to be useful for anything but short excursions. Such excursions NEED to be short since these packs seldom have allowances for water, food and clothing that might be shed or needed for longer hikes. Other packs I've purchased (including larger MindShift packs) have been too big, too small, too uncomfortable or lacking important (to me) features such as tripod attachments, utility pockets, hip belt or chest compression straps. Believe me, I've tried a bunch and own many, 8 at last count. But FINALLY, MindShift (a division of Think Tank) has produced what is, for me at least, the perfect day pack for full day hiking with my Canon 5DsR with mounted 24-70mm lens and hood plus tripod and ample space for, spare battery, water, food, short rope, basic first aid and safety supplies plus cold weather or rain gear. This is my go-to basic kit. Then, depending on season and where I'm hiking and what I expect to see I can choose to add a super wide lens and/or a telephoto or macro equipment (180mm and macro flashes). I could add more or leave stuff out depending on conditions. The pack is well designed and well made. Unlike earlier MindShift packs, this one doesn't include the built-in fanny pack that requires you to swivel it from beneath the main pack, unzip and withdraw your camera with little space remaining for other lenses, then try to return it to it's previous parking garage. Instead you swing the pack off one shoulder to your front and lay it out against your abdomen where it sits comfortably while you open and select any of the gear inside the main compartment. You can easily change battery, lenses, memory cards, etc. Trust me, it's much easier to do than to describe and IMHO far superior to anything else on the market - including some of MindShift's own products. My search for the perfect camera day pack has ended. Thanks, MindShift. ... show more
