Description

The Minn Kota Terrova features an easy-to-deploy system of fall away ramps that effortlessly slide the trolling motor into the water, plus a spring- loaded Lift-Assist design for easy stowing. A low-profile electric foot pedal offers two steering options (heel/toe pedal and left/right steering buttons) and includes Spot-Lock activation, rotary speed control dial, momentary/constant on toggle, and Autopilot on/off toggle. Durably designed for all kinds of freshwater boats, this bow-mounted, electric-steer motor attaches to the front of the boat with a bolt-on bracket and pulls it through the water for better maneuverability and control. Using GPS to lock onto fishing spots with Spot-Lock, record and retrace paths, command speed and steering, and more, the i-Pilot Link system allows you to control your motor from the color touchscreen remote or from a virtual remote on your Hummingbird fish finder (sold separately). It also offers Spot-Lock with Jog to hold you in place on top of any productive fishing spot without touching your trolling motor. With the included heading sensor, you can use Jog to move your Spot- Lock location five feet in any direction. An integrated battery meter is built into the i-Pilot to give you an instant reading on the motor's battery life. Offering optimal sonar performance to help you find fish, the built-in Universal Sonar 2 keeps your transducer and wiring completely concealed and protected, running everything through the trolling motor's shaft with shielded connectors. The Terrova trolling motor combines an indestructible composite shaft with the swept-back flared blades of the Weedless Wedge 2 Prop to power through anything without battery-draining chopping and hacking. This trolling motor is mounted on my Tracker Grizzly 2072 and moves my boat like a toy boat in a bathtub. Well made, easy installation and easy to set up makes it the best motor I've ever purchased. Pros: Spot lock (Game Changer!) Soft start - so you don't automatically try to get to full selected speed immediately which reduces battery consumption drastically. Heading select - allows you to keep going the same heading automatically. Remote. Cons: I am used to the cable steer type motors and knew which direction my motor was in just by the angle of my foot. This one doesn't have that and your foot pedal is always flat unless you are actively turning the motor which makes me have to look at the motor more often..... I know, I know first world problems. Deploying is easy but I think they should have made it so it was a little smoother falling into the water. Also note this model doesn't have the cable for MEGA down imaging it only has the cable for universal sonar 2. ... show more

Works as it should, the spotlock and auto pilot features make running this thing a dream compared to the old cable styles. Plus the foot control lays flatter so you don't need a recessed pedal tray to keep from getting a jacked up lower back from fishing all day.

Only bought this motor for spot lock and man is it a game changer. Here in nor cal, it gets pretty windy which as you know, it’s hard to stay on your “spot” and spot lock makes it easy. Not only did my fish catching percentage go up but more importantly my consistency went up. 10/10 recommend

    • BREAKS CONSTANTLY!!!

DON’T HIT ANYTHING WITH THIS TROLLING MOTOR! I’ve had this motor for a year, and I fish shallow, muddy water in the Mississippi. There is a very fragile, plastic bushing inside the steering housing that will snap if you hit ANYTHING hard, even going at a snail’s pace. Minn Kota has replaced it two times in one year already, (each fix taking about a week) but my warranty runs out this year, and it’s a $120 fix every time it happens out of warranty, so I’m worried. I called Minn Kota about maybe buying an extended warranty, but they informed me they used to offer them 4 years ago but don’t anymore. ...I wonder why not... I asked what I should do, and the guy on the phone told me, “stop hitting stuff,” which was not helpful. I know it’s a complicated machine, but it should at least be able to handle small bumps every once in a while. In looking around on the internet, it seems like many shallow water anglers have the same issue. The Terrova is great in deep water, and the spotlock feature is a game-changer, but I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have looked into other options. ... show more
