Features

  • Strong PowerThe 4-stroke 6hp engine, with a thrust force of up to 1653lbs, will provide strong power for stable driving. A heavy-duty three-blade plastic propeller reduces drag and balances thrust for optimum performance.

  • Easy to OperateHand-pull start features transistor non-contact electronic ignition for easy starting, while the flame-out switch on the handle allows one-touch stopping of the engine. This compact and lightweight outboard engine can be easily carried and moved around.
  • High PerformanceVertical mount engine design and superior carbonation system with primer bulb can increase power, efficiency, performance, and durability. Start-in-gear protection/clutch feature prohibits prop rotation while idling to prevent danger and machine damage. Multiple heat vents on the housing provide good ventilation and prevent the engine from overheating to improve its stability and reliability.

  • A Great Outboard Motor with a Decent Price
Color: 4-Stroke 6.5HP
I bought this 6.5hp outboard for my 10-ft inflatable dinghy. The motor is very inexpensive, probably less than half of the price for a same-sized Honda or Yamaha outboard. I did not expect too much out of it. After 5 times of sea trials, however, its performance is way above my expectation. It took me several trials to try to start it for the first time. After I realize I didn't pump enough gas into it and pumped a bit more, it started smoothly. Afterwards, it can be easily started with just a couple pulls. It appeared a quite powerful motor for my little dinghy. I believe the boat had a speed around 10 mile/hour at full throttle, which is more than I had hoped. I ran it out in a bay by Camano Island near Seattle 5 times with more than 3 hours each time (a total runtime close to 20 hours), it worked very smoothly without a glitch, which helped me catching a lot crabs and flounders. The gas consumption appeared very economical. The fuel tank gas level didn't seem changed much after almost 20 hours of run (at different speed). I am very happy with it. I will continue run my dinghy with the motor and hope it will continue to have the same great performance. I may report back after a few months to a year and let people know how the motor work over longer periods. ... show more

  • So far so Good
Color: 2-Stroke 12HP
Bought the 12hp model about 3 months ago, I use it just about every weekend on my 12ft aluminum v hull. Has been a great motor, fires up in 1 to 2 pulls every time. Once I got past the break in period, I changed the lower unit oil and spark plugs and checked over the bolts. I usually can get my boat up to 18-20mph with myself and my son or wife. This outboard seems to be a 99% clone of a tohatsu m9.8b 2 stroke, which makes sourcing parts easier than I initially thought. Ofcourse there's no hangkai service place here in the US, but I'm not afraid of doing service myself. Seller was fantastic also, I live in South Carolina and we are required to have all outboards 5hp and up titled and registered. The outboard did not come with any paperwork, and SCDNR specifically asked for a bill of sale, a MSO, and a picture of the serial number plate. Seller was very helpful in obtaining the MSO and an invoice, and I just received the title and decal as required by my state the other day. ... show more

  • 2nd summer dead
Color: 2-Stroke 12HP
Don't forget to replace gear oil. Youtibe has plenty vids on it. Plenty power to get Bris 10.8 inflatable on plane in seconds. 75lbs isn't light but better than a 4 stroke. I'm waiting on a title of some sort because South Carolina and other states require the boat AND the motor to be registed....so they can tax us more and no other reason. Really tired of all these taxes and not getting any benefit from it all. Update: two year review. I don't use it that often, however, this last month I have been on two sailing trips. First trip the pull start housing broke so you have to take off the cover and wind the string each time. second trip it started running rough. Now it won't start at all. I will try new gas but when you are far from ahore and have to row your dog at daybreak, yeah...no ... show more

  • Beware the Throttle Sticker might be Reversed!
Color: 4-Stroke 6.5HP
After filling the motor with oil, I first tried operating it in a barrel. The sticker on the throttle was reversed, and I was very careful to keep it on what I thought was idle. Of course, that was wide open throttle. The motor broke the frame I was using to hold it over the barrel as soon as I switched it into gear, so I immediately shut down and decided I better try on the boat in the water. For that trial, the exhaust discharge was enough to move the boat in reverse circles. When I switched it into gear, I luckily didn't fall out of the boat. How was I to know?--I thought there was something wrong with the carburetor. The motor was strong enough to split the wood stop that held the transom plate in place, and soon I was moving along fast with the motor wobbling on a loose transom plate. Luckily didn't hit any other boats or rocks, and luckily the motor didn't dislodge and fall in the water. End of the second trial. Spent the next day fixing the transom, and brought the motor to an outboard shop that wasn't fussy about working on a Chinese online purchase. $100 repair cost to find out that the throttle sticker was on backwards and what I thought was idle was actually full throttle. So much for following the break-in guidelines, e.g. only half throttle for the first two hours of operation! Now maybe the motor will work. However, since I couldn't follow the break-in instructions, has the motor life been compromised? After the fix, the motor has been running fine, although I'm still in the 10-hour break-in period before full throttle should be used. The supplier got in touch in a timely fashion to express concern about the issues I encountered. Hopefully smooth motoring from here on! ... show more

  • IT'S REAL!
Color: 2-Stroke 6HP
I ordered a 6hp last year and is still running to this day with no problems. I ordered an 18hp and it came in a week earlier than estimated. My 18hp came in yesterday. I got it all hooked up and running within 20minutes and I was on the water within the hour. I am very very pleased with the price for these engines and they run great! ... show more

  • Tank and hose never arrived
Color: 4-Stroke 6.5HP
Don’t be fooled with this combo, I never received the gas tank and hose. They said it was back ordered and would arrive in a month. As that passed they offered $50 to buy my own (150 would have been right). Motor runs fine with small shifting issues like coming out of reverse to neutral so be ready to stop it to shift out of reverse. ... show more
