Overall, this is a decent water softener. It seems to do the job. I love the compact design. It is a space saver for sure in my main floor utility closet. I did have to return to Amazon the first of this model that I received though. The first water softener was defective. I called the Water2Buy company and received a call back from a tech in Ireland. My problems were so immense that he said I needed an entire new "head" for my unit. He said he would get back to me and about shipping me a new one. He never did. When I tried calling back, all my calls were disconnected after some time on hold. The company also did not answer my emails. Amazon did take the first unit back as defective, with all shipping costs included. I only had to pay $10 for UPS to pick up the unit from my house. These are the things you need to consider before you buy this: 1. If you get a "lemon", the company doesn't seem to be willing to do anything. They will help with tech problems, but not a completely defective machine. Make sure your relationship with the seller is such that you can return it and get a replacement. Amazon was great in this regard. 2. Be prepared for water emergency situations. In my case, after finishing a regeneration cycle, the defective machine continuously pulled in water ( to overflowing). It still pulled in water after unplugging it. When I turned off the water supply to the softener, I was unable to do laundry or use the dishwasher. Ultimately, I figured out that I needed to turn off the water using the knobs on the machine. After this I was able to use the the above appliances. The owner's manual, the app and the website were of no help in dealing with this situation. I think the Water2Buy believes the average customer knows more about water softeners than we actually do. 3. Be prepared to replace a potentially defective machine. My smart brother happened to install the first softener with pipe unions, which allowed him to easily disconnect the machine without cutting pipes and soldering. This made taking out the defective one and replacing it pretty simple. 4. All water softeners are a big deal to install if pipe cutting is involved, in order for a softener of a different size to be able to fit in. My brother is smart, but not a plumber. It took him 9 hours, including a trip to Home Depot and back, to install this (the first time). Cutting out of pipes and much soldering was involved. We were able to move this compact design back, closer to the wall. 5. The owner's manual is not thorough and and was of little help. The app seems to only help you get started with the settings, based on the hardness of the water. The website offers more help, but was of little assistance for the problems I was having. Therefore, I suggest you identify a "buddy" ahead of time to help you deal with any problems. 6. A glass of red wine in the evening greatly reduced the stress associated with the defective water softener. Maybe your preference is beer? ... show more

Easy install on my new home. Our water is soft and pleasant tasting. I had a plumber set up the bypass to the water softener. I have well water that was hard when tested initially after drilling. After install of system, I have zero hardness in the water. I have test strips to check every once and a while and all is good. I have had system since March 2023. ... show more

I think the equipment does what it is supposed to do. The instructions were not very thorough or user friendly. If they were I would probably rate a 5 star. I was able to install it myself but there were leaks in the fittings. I had to take apart and really put on an extra amount of teflon tape to keep from leaking. I probably would not buy this unit again but it is great having soft water vs the hard we had. ... show more

installs just like others not easy lots of connections to make as usual! Not a metered softner as it states but uses old way of regen! seems to use a lot of salt we will see!

It seems like this company focused on ease of installation! I installed myself in place of my old Culligan. I went over 10 years without one after it broke. So i am happy to have one. This one has its pros and cons so far. I like that i can set of t for 400 gallons and that ots easy to use and install. I do t like that the diaplay does not point up so its easy to see, you have to crouch down to see it. I do like that the disply says how much water is left before next regeneration without having to search for it. The website is very helpful. The green cover is awkward but i will get used to it. The container shell seems to bow out easily and not keep its original form when fully loaded with salt. So far i can say i have notice a difference of less film or sediment accumulation in the toilets. Overall i am mostly happy with it so far. When O get time I plan to upload a photo. ... show more

Use the rings for the valves. No video on YouTube but pretty intuitive to install. Saved tons of money considering other products are $3k plus to hire somebody.
