I don’t know what Tate James puts in these books but HOLY HELL!!! Book 2, Watch Your Back, in the Devil’s Backbone series is SO FREAKING GOOD!! Literally read it all day. And it pulls you right back in from page one until you literally have to tell yourself to put it down! It’s dark, Spicy Why Choose, Enemies-to-Lovers, Secret Society romance, Step-brother and his three best friends and it will take you one emotional ride! I loved book 2 because we get to know so much more about each of our characters. And they go on when hell of a ride in this book! We learn more about the Devil’s Backbone society and it’s role. Ashley~such a fierce girl, lover her character! And these men. When they decided to go all in, Royce, Carter and HEath are everything…………. Nate, it’s a love/hate relationship with him for me! Underneath it all I believe he is a boy that just wants to be loved! I love we get to watch Ashley and her boys as they grow their relationships both together and as couples. The spice, ughhhhhhh, so many hot, burn your Kindle scenes. There is so much the whole way through of what is really going on, who is behind what and the cliffhanger will literally leave you needing therapy! I honestly don't know what to fully say except you MUST go read this series ASAP! I’ll say it once again. I LOVEEEE dark/college/why choose romance and this book, this series is everything! One of the best of 2025 and will definitely forever be on my favorites! GO READ THIS BOOK!!!!! This audiobook wastes no time pulling you deeper into danger. Watch Your Back sharpens the tension introduced earlier and raises the stakes in every possible way. The story is smarter, darker, and more intense, and the audiobook format makes it all hit harder. The narration perfectly captures the constant sense of threat and control running through the story. The female main character grows even more commanding here, and you can hear the confidence and calculation in every decision she makes. The men surrounding her remain complex and dangerous, each voice adding a different edge to the story and keeping the dynamic unpredictable. The plot moves fast but never feels rushed. Every interaction feels deliberate, every reveal calculated. The spice is there, but it serves the story rather than distracting from it, amplifying the power struggles and emotional tension instead of overpowering them. By the end, I was fully locked in and ready for more. This audiobook delivers suspense, chemistry, and sharp storytelling in a way that keeps you listening nonstop. Dear author, I'm stating to think you hate me. You took my heart made me love them and now you have ripped my heart out and shred it! I am calling my doctor all this bc you also have me waiting 4 to 5 weeks for hopefully the conclusion to this masterpiece! I wanted to write this like that dang diary but I just can't continue! Do what?!?! That ending....woman are you a kidding me? I am repeating I my head it's just like last time heath is not dead and this is all made up?!?!? Now, I am suspicious of everyone but mainly Nats mom and what the heck nat? I mean you pour your heart out and then slam an ice pick in my girls heart? I just have to relax and wait wver so patiently for this to all work out! I'm sorry ladies stop clutching your pearls but all the sex was needed to show how in love these boys are for Spark, squirrel, ashes! If the smexy times aren't shown with all their glory how would you know Nat is going green with envy? Which is why his betrayal is making me want to vomit! I believe he has a plan to keep her safe! The DB games/parties got kinda boring for me. I thought for sure someone was gonna be unalived at that war of paint party! Her getting 50,000 and paying of her debt and then thanking nat was touching. They had great, authentic moments of hate and sincerity. I'm rooting for him now! But his on thin ice bub! Now, as for as Carter, heath and roycey...Roycey is my fave! Carly the bff is so interesting and alive....her character jumps off the pages, love all her scenes...we need to know more about this boyfriend and his brother 🔥! Ashley mom and dad I'm just ewww I don't know how this serves the story? I wish we knew more about Ashley's dad bc she loves him so much. I sense she adores him more bc he was not around and the mom is chopped liver. Mac is interesting but now I'm suspicious of him too. I mean duh joycelyn is carinas stalker!!! Hello! Royces incarcerated mom is also suspicious now to me too! What a ride! I usually despite ya college books but this has enough story and mystery that I love it! I have not given a 5 star rating in ages!!!! Please hurry and finish this last book! We need it!

⭐️ 4.5 Audiobook Elite University / Secret Society / Suspense / RH / Mystery / Strong FMC / Cliffhanger / Full Cast Audio So good! Love that it’s full cast, makes it so more completely immersive. Even better than the first book and another WTF cliffhanger! So wrong…..but thank goodness I had the next audiobook ready! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
