  • GREAT WENCH, Best one I have had in 40 years of towing
Style: VR 8
I burn through my Winch one way or another almost every year or two. This one was only a few wees old, and I had to do a recovery on my bucket loader that sank 3 feet deep over the tires.. I had to use it for one of the most serious rescues ever. I hooked the cable to the factory ring and started to wench her. No luck, she sank more. So I get the stupid idea that I will snatch her out by letting out 25 feet of cable, back my truck up to the edge of the wet land. drop her in to low gear and nail the gas. Keep in mind deep Mud, and a steep up hill grade.... I back up the the muds edge.. Floor the gas peddle. BAM a bad bad sound I hear. I get out of the truck, the loader is set free. The tail gate on my trailer is ripped off the trailer. The wench and the steel mount are on the ground. where it landed after it ripped of my tail gate. The Winch was un harmed, and my trailer is getting a new mount welded to it and a new tail gate for the low price of $1300.00 dollar's. Yeah, it was worth it... NOT!! The wench is just fine. I see on uTube fools like me pulling a car that went over a cliff .. Y CAI'NT I... pull a loader out of a swamp.. I purchased a Snatch as well. When everything is fixed I am going back to this swamp and backing into the same spot and see if this snatch block really works. NO I am not so frigging stupid to not bring a few friends with tow trucks. Any way, This wench is great. for normal use and people no as stupid and me.. ... show more

  • If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Warn hit a home run here! Details and pics.
Mounted on a Gen 1 Tacoma tucked away in my awesome Shrockworks bumper for almost a year now, this thing rarely gets used to pull me out but it has saved my friends plenty of times. A lot of the people I wheel with either don't have a winch or have a cheap one. The cheap ones always break, gears stripped, electrical issues etc but this winch always works. I rely on it and my friends have come to rely on it. If we are out wheeling and a winch is needed, this one gets used. It's a beast as far as pulling power, it has more than the Taco needs or can handle. Make sure you chock your wheels if you are going to be pushing the winch while pulling someone else up/ out of a bad spot, this thing will drag your truck lol. What I like: Reliability: Zero failures. Mud, water, South Texas heat while dragging stuck, broken and flipped vehicles back right and it just works every time. Weight vs power: Sure I went and looked at all the reviews before I bought and thought this should work ok... and then I used it. It isn't the lightest out there but the synthetic line really helps with the weight and the power is amazing. It doesn't seem to care at all about bad angles, stuck vehicles etc. I've used it plenty and I worry about my truck and the other truck more than the winch. Price: It's a bargain. What you get vs what you pay is a win. If it had been more I wouldn't have purchased it originally but after having it and using it? I'd pay more for it. Pics: Install inside the Shrockworks bumper, fits like a glove. Control box mounted on the fender well in the engine bay. The control box fits up top but I don't like them on the exterior of the truck. Tire change on a Jeep at Barnwell Flip and rollover accident at the top of one of the harder climbs in Hidden Falls. No injuries and he drove out thanks to the Warn. ... show more

  • Warn is the only way to go
Style: VR 8
This winch looks great, works great was very easy to install in an M1 bumper on my FJ. I had to fab a simple relocation bracket for the control box which was easy thanks to Warn's awesome design. The wires, the warranty, the hook, the hawes fairlead are all top notch (cast iron does rust people that don't wheel with the mall queen brodozer AHHHHH) I am very pleased with this purchase a great winch at a great price that is not just an ornament. WARN MAKES THE BEST WINCHES AND BACKS UP THEIR PRODUCTS PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Read about the people who went cheap and then regretted it right here on Amazon. ... show more

  • Perfect fit, quality winch!
Great winch! I attached this to the Westin winch tray on my 2008 Ford F250. No problems with fit up. The winch has a 10' corded remote control so you can stay clear when using or operate from inside the cab. All parts are quality and there was no damage from shipping or receiving. Bolt holes match perfectly and all pieces and parts are a solid fit. Easy to operate and I am looking forward to years of use. ... show more

  • I like it.
Came wired and cable installed. Bolted into my bumper effortlessly and works as advertised. Just hook up to your battery and you are ready to get unstuck. People complaining about it being made in China need to look around. The entire country has been handed over to the horde and you just sat and watched. No use whining now, it's done. ... show more

  • Powerful, Tested, Dependable
Dependable pulling power, put it through its paces in my JL and was not let down. Warn makes a fantastic winch and my friends on the trail were pleased that the universal warn connector at the control box allowed them to use my controller as they had misplaced theirs. its a winch not a feather boa, and has stood up to the enviroment that I use it in the way you would expect it to with appropriate wear and tear. I recommend this winch ... show more

  • Great Winch
I got this winch a couple weeks ago installed on the WARN GenII winch carrier on the front of my 2018 F250 and all I got to say is. Worth every penny!!! this past weekend the VR12S pulled a diesel 4X4 F250 pulling a tandem axle dually roll off trailer that had a 8K lb shipping container up up up up and up some more a hill in Alabama that was sloppy wet and steep. (Snatch block required obviously) ... show more
